GGG may have gotten a pass from a UD over Jacobs, but this time he may not get a UD, even if he dominated Canelo. No way GGG will win in the cards, just like the Ward-Kovalev fight. GGG has to win by KO or stoppage. Canelo wins easy by UD.
GGG is one of these guys who will stop getting KOs once he steps up to A level comp, in his case starting with Jacobs. Canelo will box his head off, maybe get a late stoppage.
I'm a huge GGG fan and I agree with this statement. Not just because boxing has been known for robberies when going to scorecards but Canelo has better boxing skills and speed than Jacobs.
They will probably find a way to disqualify triple G when he knocks canelo out, I do think if canelo can stay conscious he has a chance to out box GGG. Before the Jacobs fight I was definitely on the side of GGG but he didn't look that flash.
Wow, yet another Anti Canelo support group thread.. LOL. How many more support group threads do you guys need?
I was just about to type that yeah Canelo cards seem to favour him but if he was to get completely dominated in a fight nobody would push it far enough to still give him a result. But then i remember the 114-114 from the Floyd fight.
We know that if it's even remotely close, Alvarez gets it. You can't expect a fair shake from the judges against him, but if he survives against Golovkin, it's probably beyond judges' repair anyway. Golovkin KO or UD.
Perhaps, but I was just thinking that a draw would suit both parties excellently. Even GBP's side. Huge money rematch, would be much bigger than if the first fight had a decisive result.
Styles and dimensions make fights. Ggg beat jacobs in a close but clearly fought tough fight. Why was it tough AND some of us fully expected it to be tough for specific reasons. Jacobs could hang with high not only because only because he trained for and fought the fight of his life but because he had the height, reach and power to work around. As a whole canelo is the better fighter than DJ. The problem is, canelo doesn't have those advantages. That's what makes this fight so great, 2 of the true top of the elite fighters going h2h with almost the same dimensions. Sadly I fully agree, ggg needs a stoppage to win. Even dominating he could get kovalev'd..
I feel the same even though I believe GGG is the better boxer and can outbox canelo. Canelo will probably have the judges in his back pocket though so anything but a KO will be a L.
