Ward-Kovalev II, or Canelo-Golovkin, which fight is more significant?

In terms of significant and legacy fight, I think they are both equal.
But whoever thinks this is going to be a blowout or 100% confident, it's only going to go one way, will be in for a surprise. I believe it's going to be as tight and as tough as Ward Kov 1.

 

You could argue that Ward vs Kova 2 is more significant as a clear winner in my book is p4p#1 plus both Ward and Kova are higher on most p4p lists currently.

ward vs kovalev is the sport's most significant fight right now. of the four, canelo has the weakest accomplishment and the three are p4p listed with kovalev and ward at the top.

 

I think part of the problem with your results is that the question is very open to interpretation, plus in the poll wording you've said "as a boxing fan" which implies a wider context (to me), whereas in the OP you asked for individual preference. Not trying to be a dick just saying people will project what they want on to your question then answer that.

I'd say,

Bigger:
In terms of impact on potential p4p ranking: Ward v Kov
Media focus/POV buys: Canelo GGG

Better:
Boxing skill/IQ: Ward Kov (not that the others are slouches in this department)
Entertainment: Canelo GGG

Personally I'm slightly looking forward to Canelo GGG more. We've not seen them in the ring together before, and being in the niche position of being a Kovalev fan who thought Ward deserved the marginal decision first time around, I feel that fight could well be a less entertaining clearer decision for Andre. Still hoping for a Krusher KO though!

Ward vs Kovalev 2. Smaller profile but more significant in terms of legacy and p4p. Canelo vs Golovkin is a high profile fight for sure, but not as significant. The first Kovalev vs Ward match kind of dampens the rematch in the eyes of many.

I've seen almost zero fanfare for Kovalev-Ward.

CaneloGGG will be the biggest fight of the year.
