So its the Leeds card this weekend and i suppose we can use this show to gauge how well wazza and bt are starting off, relative to hearn and sky when they had their shows there.
Obviously Warrington vs Martinez is main event followed /preceeded by about another 10 fights, iirc.

Jazza vs ward is chief support, theres the 2 leathers on it with josh leather fighting for the ibf intercont, also on is tyrone nurse at ww, although the purpose of this fight im not too sure, he aint a ticket seller, hes staying at 140 at least till he wins the belt outright. He was only out 3wk ago, so i cant really work out why hes on the bill. The rest is made up of fr@nks up and comings. My tip on one to watch is reece mould, hes 4-0 going in, this fight is at 128 but hes expected to do 122 championship when he gets up the ladder..

Weve already had a few nights of boxing on bt and although the 1st couple you could of picked holes in, by the time we had the langford card it seemed as though bt/fr@nk are making a concerted effort to really give hearn/sky a run for their money.

Now were onto the leeds card where you can argue that fr@nk not only signed warrington but bought the leeds event as one package. He now has to maintain that event and either it will slide or get better.

The tickets that have been sold so far are about the average for when hearn was there, and theres been a big push for tickets within the last wk or so, now leeds utd arnt in the play offs.

So we have the same headliner at the same arena with about the same amount of tickets been sold on average.
The rest is going to be down to production, promotion, presentation etc on the night.
I think this is a good measuring stick for bt/fr@nk to see how serious they realy are about giving hearn/sky a run for their money.

On a side note, ive heard that bt maybe formating a bit of the ufc model and by that i mean, offering incentives by way of cash reward for fight of the night, best social media blogger and things like this. All i can say is i hope they do.

    What do other posters think?

I think it has been a positive start for BT, the first card was OK but the Leicester card was really enjoyable. I think the Leeds card could be decent, I know Martinez is considered shot but even if he has just a little left I think It could be a good test for Josh. The Jazza dickens fight is decent, as is Leather vs Sutcliffe.

I think the Birmingham card is also solid, Kal Yafai making his first world title defence (don't know much about opponent) and also Eggington vs Rodriguez for the European title, Rodriguez looks basic but should gel well with Eggington. Also Gamal Yafai vs Sean Davis is solid.

I expect the BT one to be a little more enjoyable but they're both pretty OK. The main event fight on Sky will probably be a bit one sided to be honest. Martinez is pretty shot I think but I'm less hot on Warrington than most so if he can muster a half arsed performance then that could be quite fun.

I don't really care about the production of either shows. If Paul Dempsey is on again that's good for BT, really enjoy him. The punditry in general I find to be a lot better than Sky, though it of course depends who each show has on. Nelson and Adam Smith just make me depressed. Particularly when Smith is on commentary "Just a little look in to his corner there as if to say..." "Reminiscient of your Gatti-Ward, Morales-Barreras..." "He's looking tired in there Johnny!" every ****ing fight. Nelson is a big casual ******* as well. Barker and Macklin are usually alright though they aren't 'hype' commentators

Tyrone Nurse is a ticket seller by the way, quite a big one.

I always thought he was universally quite liked to be honest. I don't enjoy him for his boxing knowledge or anything but I tend to find he will ask awkward questions that other presenters might not. Like, I quite like Buncey but I feel like his job when questioning is to make the boxers like him whereas Dempsey isn't too arsed

i just remember him interviewing Haye after his comeback fight and it felt like he kept making digs at Haye, and not in the sense of asking the questions some presenters won't (which i agree with) and i don't like Haye but i thought it was wrong so since then, subjectively maybe, every time i've seen him on, i haven't rated him

The BT Card looks more appealing so I will watch that card with the Matchroom Card in the small box at the bottom of the screen.

Sky Q functionality is useful at times being able to watch 2 channels at the same time on a split screen.
