This is simply a swan song and a pension top up for Bellew with the accolade on his CV that he won a world cruiserweight title and also fought for the heavyweight championship of the world. Good luck to him. However I think Wilder flatlines him with one big punch whereas Parker beats him up in a reasonably competitive fight early on.
That tweet was in response to Parker's own tweet that posted a British flag. I took that to mean he's going to come over here to fight Hughie, not Bellew. But we shall see.
As a Bellew fan I hope Bellew tries to get a fight with Wilder and steers far clear of Parker. Might be career suicide, but if he wants to punch above his weight, a Wilder fight, with the clash of personalities, the electric build up and the unpredictability of the fight itself, would be far more mouth watering than a one-sided beat down at the hands of the amiable and quiet-talking Parker.
he couldn't even beat stevenson or cleverly. kovalev destroyed cleverly. bellew is not top flight at lhw, or cw. let alone hw.
This is a good build up for a fight v AJ, to introduce Joseph Parker to the UK fans and then market a mega fight v AJ. Parker blows Bellew away in under 6 rounds.
So I take it before Bellew v Haye you must of 100% picked Bellew to beat Haye. And before Bellew v Haye you 100% thought Ruiz and takam easily take Haye out??? Don't think so.
I did pick Bellew to beat Haye actually and laid money on him. It wasn't a confident pick since no one knew exactly what Haye had left, but the fact that he'd only fought nobodies since his comeback was a pretty big sign that he was trying to hide his true form. Bellew ended up getting the job done and Haye got the ignominious ending that was always in store for him. Good stuff all round. That doesn't, however, alter the fact that the win is virtually meaningless as a gauge for how well Bellew stacks up to the rest of the division. Anyway I don't get the point you're trying to make. Are you suggesting that an upset win over a ring rusty and injured former champ has some positive bearing on his chances vs either Wilder or Parker, two young and active fighters whose form we know for certain?
