Bout 30 million for each Holyfield fight I think. That would be like 50 million now. He was always making 20-30 million a fight. His purse for Lewis was 17.5 plus I think ppv upside. The ppv made 106 million so he probably made more than 17.5.

My god what a draw Tyson was.

    Kevin McBride vs. Mike Tyson
    crowd of 15,472.
McBride's purse was $150,000. Tyson's purse was $5.5 million. However, according to documents filed with a U.S. bankruptcy court, Tyson was expected to receive only $250,000, with most of the after-taxes purse going to his ex-wife, Monica Turner, and his creditors.

    Danny Williams vs. Mike Tyson
He earned $8 million against Williams but will keep only $2 million if a repayment plan is approved in bankruptcy court. It also was supposed to begin a run of activity for Tyson designed to help him dig out of a $38 million debt. Had he won, a deal worth at least $80 million awaited him from promoter Bob Arum.

    Mike Tyson vs. Clifford Etienne
The fight is critical for Tyson, who will make about $5 million. Although he is said to be unhappy with his purse

    Lennox Lewis vs. Mike Tyson
Both fighters were guaranteed $17.5 million. Tyson also was forced to agree to pay Lewis $335,000 for biting his leg during the brawl at the press conference

And he has little to show for it all.
During the 20-year span of his career, Mike Tyson's income exceeded $400 million. Yet, in 2004, before his 39th birthday, this amazing moneymaker was $38 million in debt

Youngest heavyweight champion ever, looked unbeatable in his prime and no other champion has been as ferocious as kid dynamite. I don't think he's going to get forgotten any time soon.

Mike Tyson is rightfully angered that Deontay Wilder is currently the best HW America has to offer that's all.

    Great post.

Lessons for us little people that unlimited money isn't the key to happiness and a serene life.

Mike seems in a good space these days. Happy for him if that's the case.

As for the OP, nobody will forget Mike Tyson.

Deontay Wilder, however, will achieve about the same notoriety as Bowe ... if he's lucky, because he's been avoiding his Holyfield with everything in his power.

Mainstream public see Ali v Tyson as the ultimate mythical matchup. That probably won't change for centuries.

    whos deontay wilder again?

yeh the irony of wilder needing to mention a soundbite about tyson in order to get himself noticed.

wildman needs a better public relations manager, the anti-genius who let him shoot his own foot out saying that is incompetent.
