Why so much hate for Eddie Hearn?

Why do you disagree that PPV is a necessary evil? How else are the big fights going to get made?

I didn't say anything about lively press conferences. I don't care for it either, all I care about is what happens in the ring. But at the same time, it attracts the casual fans, which is good for the sport as a whole.

 

Did you consider Kell Brook-Frankie Gavin a big fight? I accept PPV isn't going anywhere, but it's only because so many people still pay for it. If it was once a year, I don't think anyone would complain but it isn't. And Hearn looks to make fights that will specifically be for PPV as opposed to fights the fants want. Haye-Bellew being a great example of that.

I never said you did man, I was speaking in general. But are casuals really good for the sport? Are they going to the small hall shows that struggle to make money? No, they're going to wherever plays Sweet Caroline.

 

Hell no, I'm not saying I agree with all PPVs... Brook Gavin was most definitely not worthy and that would have been reflected in the buys. I'm all for PPV if that's what it takes to make a big fight, but not for the sake of it. Hence why I said "necessary evil".

I've been to loads of small hall shows and you get a lot of casuals as well as hardcore fans. They are usually friends or family of one of the fighters on the card. Other than that, they couldn't give a **** about the rest of the fights and are more interested in getting pissed or starting a fight in the crowd.

You talk about hardcore and casual fans as if they are different species. It's not black and white. The so-called hardcore fans on here think making thousands of posts pissing and moaning about the sport qualifies them to look down their nose at "casuals". Half of them aren't fans at all, but more like professional trolls. These are the people that shun legitimate sources and use illegal streams, contributing nothing to the sport they claim to be fans of.

 

Me being cynical and hating on people who haven't watched Zlaticanin-Petrov gives me every right to look down on people who are positive and haven't seen that absolute dogfest of a fight, thank you very much.

People who dislike Eddie Hearn are jealous, envious, simple as that.

I genuinely like him, and can't really fathom why somebody would hate him.

If anyone in England is paying anywhere near £100 for sky then they are mugs, plain and simple.

How people can complain about PPV still baffles me. If you don't like it you don't pay. Or even better, if you want to watch it, but don't want to pay, to the pub and watch it for free.

Stubhub. The second hand market is rife throughout the world regardless of the market. Nothing Eddie can do about that, but he gets stick for it.

He said himself he could've easily sold all ringside fights to AJ for 10k and they would have sold in minutes. Yet he priced them at £2000. He hardly takes the **** does he? Same with all other ticket prices, he could've easily doubled the price and every single one would've sold, no question. But he didn't.

Honestly believe he deserves praise for being excellent at his job, thrives to improve. Some fights are ****, but then he gave us AJ vs Klit. Interesting every person on here about 12 months was saying hearn would 'never' let AJ in with Klit etc etc.

Yes he is rich - a fine accomplishment in life, granted. But no replacement for intangible wealth such as wisdom, life experience or love.
