I feel Palomino gets underrated due to his loss to Duran and his subsequent retirement. While Basilio gets alot of credit for a questionable decision over a faded Robinson. The Palomino that beat Stracey against the Basilio that stopped DeMarco, who takes it? I take Palomino through cleaner more effective punching in a 15 rounder. Dont think either guy is getting stopped.
Good fight...and I agree that Palomino is at times underrated. But with that said, I think this fight turns into an inside war, and I think Basilio beats Carlos there... Bsilio UD for me.
Neither guy is getting stopped for sure. I think I would pick Basilio as he was the better fighter and I don't see Palomino as having a stylistic advantage to offset that.
Basilio beats Palomino...his pedigree was better...fot God's sake, he beat SRR. (I know he beat SRR at middleweight, but still...)
Basilio was relentless fighter like a pressure cooker. Palomino had quick hands but would be out muscled and out worked here . Basilio on pts.
Basilio. Fantastic offense and a very under rated defense and skillset. Shouldve arguably won against Gavilan.
