Referee Gill Clancey teliing Direll, as he lay there supposedly "unconscious" "I'm going to DQ Uzcategul for the after the bell punch, stay there" !! Then the coup de gras The outrageous actions of the Direll camp. The uncle MOST be charged with assault against Uzcategul along with brother Anthony also for assault. Clancey really started the mellee All that was need was to warn Uzcategul for the late punch & give him 5 mins to recover He seemed perfectly fine after. I wonder if the fact Uzcategul was winning the fight had any bearing ????? When will this Bull Feces ever end ???????
Uzcategui was up by one point... and thoroughly lost the previous 3 rounds. No telling who would've won. And Dirrell wouldn't have been able to continue, period. And Jose already received a warning. Only black eye was Dirrell's camp.
So the referee telling the supposedly unconcious Direll " I'm going to DQ him stay there" is OK huh ?? Direll was NEVER unconscious. I guess you think Barthelemy's 'win" was legit too huh ???
I didn't see the other fight so no comment. And "unconscious" was a stretch but otherwise no, no issue.
Really a crappy day for the sport imo, which sucks because there were some entertaining fighters on....the Murata robbery was downright criminal. At least Davis took care of bus inessential bs free, and it looks like Bud will too.
Clancy's action is mirror imaged of the Jimrex Jaca vs Juan Manuel Marquez fight that POS Laurence Cole refereed years ago...!!!
Dirrell was never unconscious, he sat up, then down, the ref told him he would disq. if he could not fight...................yeah, and I have a bridge I will sell anyone who believes that Dirrell was not conscious..................Dirrell's acting is getting even worse that is used to be............ Beltran was a victim of another criminal referee...................knock down called from a headbutt, real knock down not called, finally Beltran knocked his opponent out cold.................the ref could not cheat him after that........... Relickh was robbed, a clear robbery.........................who sad, but with one sided scores! Impossible! It's time judges and referees pay a price, plus it's time boxing had instant replay............no instant reply to protect criminal judges and referees........
Yeah that was a scumbag move to pull to sucker punch someone like that with bare fists. Hopefully the authorities get involved because that could have been far worse.
The sucker punch was awful. For the DQ it's not the most controversial. Although I would have preferred the 5 minutes break and maybe a strong deduction (2 pts). I think that the ref said he already warned the guy previously, so you gotta be careful. If you get warned for low blows during a fight and then knock out your opponent with an "accidental" low blow there's a good chance you'll be DQ'd. And even if they had gone to the scorecards, let's say Jose gets 1 or 2 points deducted he probably loses the fight. Take away the ridiculous unprofessional behavior of Dirrell's corner and it's not really a black eye for boxing.
He was the first one to get out of control He struck someone too The whole shebang. The Dirrells, Clancey, the commission too need kicking out. The decision was bogus & needs changing Jose was ROBBED!!
if Cole is a"POS" How do you rate Clancey, Bayless , Cortez etc Thank God for guys like Harvey Dock & Tony Weekes
