(disclaimer: I'm a big fan of GGG, now that he's beaten the crap out of the two fighers i had been following for years--David Lemieux and Grzegorz Proksa)

i have GGG by TKO in rd 8.

i see GGG in his usual recon, limited-engagement mode in rd 1

he finds his range but is content to pop Canelo with his jack-hammer jab in rd 2 and 3

the serious carnage begins in rd 6; ref waves off in rd 8.

    ------

the Canelo fans are right about one thing: for Canelo this is just another fight; for GGG it's not, it's what he's been waiting a long time for. Add to that, this might the only opponent other than Stevens that GGG genuinely doesn't like.

Its kind of hard to be destroyed when you've built your career on facing old codgers, featherfists, walking corpses and midgets.

The odd thing about this fight is depending on the winner and circumstance, neither fighter will get any credit..

    If Canelo wins by decision:
GGG got old and/or the judges were bought. No credit for Canelo.

If GGG wins by mid/late round T/KO:
Canelo wasnt a true MW and GGG was too big/strong for him
    No credit for GGG

Hard for Canelo to say he's not a MW when he's fought at 164 ...

Golovkin can't win a decision because the judges have already filled out their cards, the referee will try to protect El Pollo as best he can..............all three judges were either be Mexican or bought off.........however, if the referee can't protect El Pollo, then Golovkin will knock him out..........

these guys are both highly skilled. i believe canelo will get hurt early n ggg wont let him off hook. very very bold prediction ggg wins ko rd 4. ill admit im bias. i like ggg . thats what i want to happen do i honestly believe it will happen idk. but either way im pickin ggg to win this. canelo will get hurt early tho for sure imo. canelo might be able to pull through n box his way to the end but ggg is gunna show him whos boss asap n that i really do believe that

    ref stoppage by deliquescence

that will likely start a wave of gossip from Canelo fans about GGG's having illegally modified gloves.

Only fan boys and causal fans will think that GG will win, Canelo will not only outbox GG but WILL OUT FIGHT HIM! Canelo has the faster hands, sharper combinations, and better defense, A lot of you are in for a shock!

Golovkin is more proven, and has already beaten bigger and better fighters than Canelo.

His fundamentals are better and his physical attributes outclass those of Saul.

Golovkin will systematically dismantle Alvarez bit by bit using his superior jab, and body punches if Canelo tries to be too cute. By the 8-10th round Canelo will be busted up and he will get stopped. I'm calling the 9th.

Slightly rephrasing the question; "Is there anyone except me who believes that the favorite has a chance?"

Seriously, why does a ridiculous thread actually get so many reactions? I wasn't going to react on it myself, expecting it to sink harmlessly to the bottom, but this nonsense is still out there.

quite sure you're right, 22JM, i certainly can't argue with your thorough, iron-clad reasoning

Here are a some folks who pick GGG to win on 16 sept:

    Felix Trinidad

    Kell Brook

    Andre Berto

    Vasyl Lomachenko

    Bob Arum

    Freddy Roach

    Gervonta Davis

    Manny Pacquiao

which group do these guys belong to: "casuals" or "fan boys"?
