Yeah, he has to get by Brook first but Spence has the talent to be boxing's next superstar. He is a special talent and I think he will prove that today. I respect Brook, who has a lot of talent, to be fighting Spence, especially after going up two weight divisions to fight GGG. That takes guts, a guy who truly believes in his abilities. May the better man win today but I think Spence says "I have arrived." Take note.
Having the talent to be boxing next top superstar doesn't mean you are gonna be one. Spence looks like another Crawford or Ward to me. He's has the personality of a dead fish. So even if he beats Brook, which is a big if. He's not gonna be a bigger star- I'd say ever- than a Joshua or a Canelo, even if they get defeated in their next fights.
Joshua and Canelo are just as dull as Spence. The difference is the British are easy to sell hype to and so are the Mexicans when it comes to boxing especially.
Spence is a gentleman. He is not a big talker. I would call it quiet confidence. He doesn't feel the need to hype himself. No one said he was going to be a bigger star than Joshua or Canelo. No division is bigger than the heavyweights and Canelo has his huge Mexican fan base. Joe Louis had the same kind of quiet superstar talent.
i dont think he needs a big mouth to become a superstar. he is just now starting to come into his own and the age of hype is coming to an end. the fast talkin hustler is not idolized anymore like culture has dictated for the last couple decades. people are tired of the fakes.
Wish you were right but I think people always love to see a big mouth get KO'd and smart boxer/marketers like Broner and Floyd know this. They purposely hype themselves and run their mouths because they know people will tune in to see them get beat. It's a marketing strategy. I don't like it but it works. It creates buzz.
floyd needed a big mouth so the average fan would stay interested in between his boring fights, spence doesnt have that problem... neither did holyfield, leonard, paquiao, etc...
yes, and he is one of the main reason the age of hype and fakes is coming to an end. the level of contempt and disgust he has created the world over is the proverbial straw. just jump on any form of social media and see the type of feelings he is inspiring with all the double talk.
This direction is totally off topic. However, what Trump haters miss is a large swath of America has real, not imagined concerns. Porous borders, Islamism, lost factory jobs going overseas, the list is long. Trump may not be the best messenger but it is a real message that resonates with so many Americans who are hurting.
i agree, thats why so many chose him over hillary. but how do you think the smart trump voters feel now that they can compare what he promised to what he is delivering? think of it as a guy who found out his wife was sleeping around every time he left on business, whats going to run through his mind the next time he leaves on business with his new wife.
Appointees like Tillerson and Sessions are slowly weeding out the leakers and dissenters from their ranks. This will take time. It may turn out Trump was all hype and only interested in his personal agenda but that won't get him reelected. Give him time to right the ship. Don't forget he has had to fight obstructionism at every turn. He knows for him to have any hope at being reelected he must deliver. Anyway, back to Spence, boxing's next star.
