Glad the judges had it right. It was insane how people were scoring it so wide for Brook. Spence was landing far cleaner and was much busier aside from round 2 and 5.
Old timers are always telling me about Sam Langford, with 2 glass eyes, traveling cross country on 45 minutes notice to fight heavyweights while battling food poisoning from tainted milk and syphilis. And he'd still have the energy to jitterbug that very night. Guess they just don't make 'em like they used to.
Yes Hearn just said he's gonna need a plate in this one now lol, mentally he broke down after his eye came up,tough lad though to keep finding something from nowhere.
Spence was being outboxed, and behind on the scorecards before the 10th, the man isn't all that great, deal with it, Kell was compromised. he should have moved to 154.
@CST80 is very knowledgeable about boxing, what you're saying there is ridiculous. Look at the Kirk's league threads and @CST80 has been a top competitor for many years. He's a huge fan of Brook, it's perfectly normal to be annoyed when one of your favourites lose. And before you jump on me, I predicted Spence by late TKO.
CST. Take a breather from Spence. He has a lot to work on in terms of skills obviously but Danny Garcia was coming back against Thurman so what do you think Spence does to him? I'm telling you right now. You can't be objective on this matter and you're exposing your bias. I will do a lifetime ban if that fight gets made. It's not dick riding. No agenda. It's just common sense. Thurman does not have Brooks skills or IQ and like Cotto, starts back peddling after round 6. Spence will win.
Yes well as fans that's all we ask for isn't it,fair judging and I've never understood why in close rounds folk seem to think it should go to the home fighter, that's mental,I was interested to hear the scores as the commentators were saying there were plenty of close rounds but also said they could of quite easily have opted to have Spence like five rounds to one up at halfway given those first six were down to interpretation. Re the judges I remember ages ago someone on here said not to worry about the judges as they were for the IBF,not sure if that's right but whatever at least Spence would have won anyway had it gone the distance.
I think the only reason Garcia was ocming back is because Thurman thought he was so far ahead he could cruise and avoid risk in the last rounds. Which worked out OK in the end, but it was a SD because of that. It was a pretty convincing performance IMHO. I still pick Spence against Thurman, same as you, but Thurman has a legit chance - it's not a foregone conclusion by any means.
