Golovkin is the obvious pick here, smaller man but different level of fighter. If it comes out Groves middle name is Gerald or something then it becomes a much closer fight of course.
The Groves that fought Froch would have beat him. Groves is much bigger and we saw what happened when he fought a bigger MW, he got a controversial decision. Groves is bigger than Jacobs and most likely hits harder at 168. His chin is questionable so GGG could knock him out but if he can take GGG's punch Groves wins!
I love The Saint always in fun fights, and I do think he could hurt Golovkin, (was there a rumour he put down GGG in sparring?) but see Golovkin forcing Groves onto the ropes and disposing him pretty quickly
Triple G stops Double GG. I like GG but GGG is all wrong for him. GG just went life-and-death with Chudinov. Everything Chud does GGG does better. Much better. There were times in that fight where I really thought GG was going to be overwhelmed. Chud lost that fight because his defence is absolutely horrific. I don't even know why he bothers putting his hands up. He'd probably get hit with less shots if he closed his eyes and put them down his shorts. The Adam Booth trained GG was much better IMO.
Groves is not very good. Groves has a back foot oriented style and not very impressive defense. A lazy defensive style like Groves is the worst kind of style you can have against a fighter like GGG. Groves would not understand how much distance GGG can cover while throwing power shots with his shifting and would be catch Groves as he backs up all day long. I think Golovkin has groves figured out by round 4 and everything after than is Groves trying to survive. Groves power doesn't seem that impressive to me either. Chudinov was stopped purely because of the fact he wasn't throwing anything back. He failed to stop Murray despite landing leather on him for 12 rounds. The fact that Murray had Groves in some trouble at one point in the fact does not bode well for Groves durability.
Froch 1 groves kills golovkin easy. I mean jacobs was not as big and not even half as fast as groves on that froch fight and managed to trouble golovkin. But groves really lost a whole lot of himself with that ko against froch. One of the most extreme cases of a fighter not beeing the same after a loss. But happy for him getting his belt Anyway i think ggg floors him nowadays
Groves is a great fighter, and an admirable mentally strong warrior of a kunt, but GGG would body him within six rounds. I still believe Groves is either number 1 or 2 SMW right now. IMO he beats Degale handily in a rematch.
Is Groves really that much bigger than Jacobs? This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
