Realistic 1st defense for Errol Spence Jr...

Afraid of Thurman? I think it's the other way around. Spence already called him out. Thurman will do the Donaire and say he's not at his level (remember Donaire saying that about Rigo)? I would favor Spence to possibly KO Thurman. One time needs to step up.

no its maybe thurman will fight him. spence ready n willing right now right this second. he called him out after fight. but thurman injured so its not realistic. thurman dont run from anyone and if it wasnt for thurmans surgery that fight would b getting made as we speak.

 

Timothy Bradley would be a good scalp. Probably not realistic. Lamont Peterson is makeable.

 

I'd say Porter: but after the head butting performance he put on against Berto idk who would really want to watch that fight. Porters style really is not appealing. I think a DSG fight followed up with a Thurman fight would be really good for Spence (especially if he wins both).

For those saying that he's afraid of Thurman, I disagree. He's been calling out thurman for YEARS. Keith has been dodging him which I can't blame him for. Thurman biggest weakness is taking body shots. I think that would be a relatively easy win for spence. After the brook win, I really don't know if there's another WW that challenges spence more than brook did.

 

Khan would outbox Spence quite easily....

But he can't keep pace after 6 rounds and isn't tough enough to endure the walk down slaughter that would occur after round 5 onwards.

Either Lamont Peterson or Collazo in the Autumn as Thurman is currently out and probably won't be available until early next year and Thurman will want a tune up before the dangerous Spence. I love Danny Swift Garcia but I cannot see him being in a hurry to get in there with Spence who at some stage will move to Light Middleweight and eventually Middleweight.

Porter would be a great first defense and a great name. But if he wants to take ab easy fight as a first defense i feel he has def earnt it but ONLY IF he fights thurman after that which will hopefully line up with him coming off an injury
