Who's a bigger disgrace to the WBC belt? Wilder or Stevenson?

Both guys are the WBC champs within their respective weight class and both share the same trait in not wanting to face any threats.

The last time Stevenson fought his mandatory was back in 2013 vs Bellew. That was 4 freaking years ago.
As for Wilder, so far since capturing the WBC belt, he's faced 5 complete cans, 5 voluntaries which is unheard of.

So which "champion" disgusts you more?

Wilder, five voluntary title fights in a row against winos from the alley, plus the WBC is protecting him from fighting anyone who can fight back..............now the WBC has ranked Stiverne mandatory, what a joke! He did nothing to get that ranking at all.......................

Adonis Chickenson is pretty bad, but he has fought some good fighters in his career, Wilder has fought nobody. When the WBC made Povetkin his mandatory, Wilder actually cried, begging them to do some to keep him away form Povetkin and the WBC did, after VADA cleared Povetkin it made not difference, so appears to be crooked...........

The rematch with Fonfara would be similar to Wilder rematching Molina, Drummer boy, which will probably happen in any case.

They're both pathetic. Too hard to say who's moreso.

I think we will still see Kova - Stevenson. Seems to me the stars might align for that one.

That said, I agree with your post. Adonis has fought the higher level of competition and avenged his loss to Boone. There's probably 10-12 guys in the HW division Wilder will go nowhere near ... can't say the same for AS.

Must be Wilder. As much as I resent Stevenson, at least he has a couple of good names on his resume and that in a stronger division. He also won the Ring belt (stripped now for not fighting a top 5 opponent since winning it), although it seems like Dawson was gone after draining himself to Bolivian and hasn't done anything in 5 years now.

Still that beats Wilder's first mandatory being Stiverne, who arguably lost his last and only fight since they met and got promoted to mandatory refusing an eliminator.

I don't see what Wilder ever done to disgrace the belt. He obliged to face his mandatory who was heavily favorited to relieve him of the title and then defended 5 times within two years against WBC rated top 15 opponents.

He calls out all the top names on a regular basis . You never hear a peep out of Stevenson who has never shown any interest in unifying the titles unlike Wilder.

Wilder was willing and ready to travel to Russia to fight Povetkin. Stevenson is fighting the guy who LOST what was effectively a number one contender fight. That actually boggles my mind. At least Wilder isn't holding the lineal title hostage.

Wilder by a mile, but Stevenson is still a disgrace for not fighting better.

Are you talking about the guy who knocked out Chad Dawson, Tavoris Cloud, and Tony Bellew in the same year but got robbed of the fighter of the Year award?

WBC is lucky that their guy is the Lineal champ while the other organizations have a guy who won a hometown decision parading with their belts.

    Unheard of?

Larry Holmes held the WBC title for five years (1978-1983) and the IBF belt for two years (1983-1985) and over those seven years made 20 successful title defenses.

Guess how many times he defended against a mandatory in seven years?

TWO. Shavers and Cooney. Two out of 20.

In answer to your question, neither "disgusts" me. Out of the two, Stevenson is the lesser champ.

Wilder is clearly one of the three best heavyweights in the world. I don't know if Stevenson is one of the three best light heavyweights anymore.

The WBC themselves are the biggest disgrace to their belts. They have the power to force these guys into a corner and fight the fights they should be having or lose the belt. With some champions the WBC can be brutally quick to bring up their own rules but for other people they allow them to play the game and turn a blind eye.

So you would prefer the WBC strip Wilder so you can see WBC #1 Bermane Stiverne and WBC #2 Wlad Klitschko fight for the vacant WBC strap?

Instead of the undefeated 38-0 Wilder, you want to see a 39 year-old who lost to Wilder and a 41-year-old who lost to Fury & Joshua fight for the vacant title?

That's brilliant. Makes total sense. Great call. I'm sure the winner of Stiverne-Klitschko will be viewed as the REAL champ after they've already lost to three young undefeated guys who claim the title.

I'm glad you're not running the WBC.

The guy who ducked Kovalev and Joe Smith Jr.

The guy who ducked his mandatory against Alveraz and paid him step aside money to make a fight with Sean Monaghan.

The guy who still isn't fighting his mandatory and who his fighting Fonfara who Smith knocked out in one round.

Wilder never ducked or avoided anybody. I don't call either guy a disgrace , but if i had to , i would lean towards Stevenson easily.
