Canelo stands no shot 3 years ago. Now at 35 GGG has slowed down a little and no longer has the gas tank he once had. That onslaught he unleashed on Curtis Stevens was a pretty good showing of stamina and conditioning. Don't know if GGG still has that in the tank anymore.

Even still Canelo doesn't punch hard enough to get GGG off of him. The thing about Danny Jacobs is that Jacobs is a very hard puncher. Canelo is not a power puncher. Jacobs was able to deter GGG from just swarming him recklessly which is when GGG can be very effective. When GGG doesn't fear your power he will just walk you down. And he may be able to do that with Canelo.

Against the two huge punchers that Golovkin has fought (Jacobs and Lemiuex) he outboxed them. Like him or not GGG is an extremely versatile fighter.

Handspeed is a tricky subject. If you don't have timing and ring cutting ability your lack of speed can be devastating against the wrong opponent.

If you have a great jab, accuracy, timing and footwork like GGG or Monzon you can all, but completely and totally nullify your speed deficiency.

Speed can be so overrated if you have a fighter who knows what he's doing. Which MUCH rather have power.

Canelo his plenty hard enough to get your respect. If you think GGG will be walking right through an accurate puncher like Canelo you're mistaken. I think Canelo is going to land the more clean and eye catching punches and will win most of the exchanges. I think GGG's best chance in this fight is work behind his jab cut the ring and fight smart like he did against Lemieux if he comes right in on Canelo guns blazing he will get lit up. Canelo is on another level than the likes of Jacobs and Lemieux.

I think Jacobs beats Canelo so no I don't think Canelo is on another level. A prime Jacobs has one loss and it was close. He's the 2nd best MW in the world right now and the only man who hasn't been just annihilated by GGG. So for now I'm rating Jacobs higher than Canelo.

Power can be overrated as well and can be neutralized by circling or moving away from the power hand or by simply smothering the power on the inside. Lastly, some people can simply take your power, which often happens when you start facing elite fighters.

Also let's not underestimate GGG's chin. That's his best attribute. The man is made of steel. He's a piece of iron.

I don't. Jacobs was never rated here and got no respect before he fought GGG. He was put on ***** street by light punching Mora FFS and needed a rematch and got destroyed by Pirog. He was brought in to be an opponent and a high light reel KO victim for GGG basically a showcase fight to help legitamize GGG for the Canelo fight. He fought a better than expected fight and now all of the sudden he's elite and rated by GGG fans??? I'm sorry but it doesn't work like that and I don't buy it. Canelo would beat Jacobs.

Well it's hard to call the #1 rated contender in the world a bum. Which is what Jacobs was and is before and after the GGG fight.

Now we know that 160 pound division isn't a top heavy division. It has solid contender depth, but not elite top guys. Still, I don't know man, hard to say that the #1 contender in the world (at 30 years old too) is a no respect fighter.

Just hard to do it considering that he's better than everybody in the world at that weight besides the champ.

Canelo will sting GGG a few times and I fully expect him to feed GGG some beautiful uppercuts BUT he has less than a 5% chance to get a KD and less than 1% for a KO
On the other hand I truly expect GGG to score 1 or more KDs on Canelo in the late rounds

GGG by TKO 10th round or a KO in final round

Yeah GGG claims a Mexican/ Chavez sr style but in reality he is very cautious when he faces heavy punchers. Btw Chavez was a beast in his prime. Anyhow GGG is gna control distance and land heavy jabs on Canelo . Once he gauges the timing he will start dropping his looping overhand right on him and start closing the distance. I don't see GGG trading with a fresh Canelo in the first few rounds because Sanchez knows Canelo will light him up with 4 punch combos.

If he wins he absolutely deserves credit. In fact, I'd be extremely impressed.

I would have given the GGG a massive advantage into the later rounds. Because he's smarter and more skilled fighter than Canelo. But GGG's stamina isn't the same as it was years ago. And Canelo's conditioning has for some reason gotten better in recent fights. Probably because he's not draining himself to an unnatural weight anymore.

The Stevens fight only went 8 rounds, with Golovkin dominating and not having to worry about a gas tank. So far it hasn't been an issue. No one has beaten Golovkin yet, you can't lay the foundation to discredit someone who might do that now.

By the 2nd or 3rd round Canelo will be reluctant to throw any combinations it will be 1 shot survival mode.
