Which guys can compete with Joshua?

Klitschko will have a good chance in the rematch to win. Ortiz would be able to compete with Joshua, as would Povetkin, and a fit Tyson Fury. Wilder would have a punchers chance, but not much else.

 

Well Wlad obviously was competitive in the first fight, very competitive.

Tyson Fury if he can get back into shape, will likely be a very stiff test for Joshua.

Ortiz may have looked vulnerable of late but with his power and counter punching he'll always be dangerous.

Parker's speed and power may give Joshua a few problems early on before he overwhelms Parker.

But other than these guys I don't see anyone else who can currently be competitive. Povetkin would struggle with Joshua due to styles despite his proven worth. Wilder only has a punchers chance, he simply doesn't have the skills to compete. It's far too early to think Dubois has a chance just yet as he's still so green. Haye is past his best and only has a punchers chance.

therefore lets not overrate Joshie. Struggling with a 40something isnt a great start to his title reign.

 

True, he's hardly invincible at the moment, he has clear flaws that can be exploited. It's how he improves over the next few years that will define how good he'll be. Fact is he's still a relative novice with only 19 fights and is showing improvements in each fight, while the potential is there for him to be a dominant champion, he still has to put in the work and make those improvements you can't give him the status based on what he could potentially do, he has to do it.

 

its true hes green, men are art 19/20 fights.

but the end of green is in sight, and he needs to grow up fast in boxing terms. If he cant handle himself past 20 fights, questions will become reaffirmations of inadequacies.

 

I've got Wlad (he may be able to make adjustments), Ortiz but I think Joshua is quicker, Wilders windmill which probably won't happen, Parker (I view that as 50/50), Furys if they ever fight again & - the wildcard Chisora if he showed up like he did against Whyte. Apart from that - I think Joshua will beat the rest in 3.

 

Parker a 50-50 lol, the guy's defense is terrible (Parker). Even Dillian Whyte beats parker up and bellew outpoints him, and aj would get rid of him inside 4 rounds.

Joshua is the man right now - he earned that - but he is stationary to hit and Parker packs a punch and is improving each fight.

Whyte v Parker would be a cool matchup!

 

Please ! Parker looked awful last time out, one paced and plodding with only decent(ish) hand speed, he'd have so many disadvantages against AJ. Doesn't go 6 for me

I think parker is on dominic breazeale sort of level. He may last a few rounds getting punished before getting KO'd vs AJ, he's holding that belt hostage imo, I mean you cant see AJ going 12 rounds against the guy parker beat last month can you?

 

Yh I think that's fair comment mate. I know parkers last opp was a sparring partner and that brings its own difficulties but , definitely should've got him out of there if he's anything close to the goods.
