Let's see him vs the domestic titlist that Ol Yeller beat in 9, and that Williams kid was whooping on before he choked. If he could outdo Yeller, I'd say he fit and ready for a Cotto, Mellow, or Andrade.
To be honest, I think Brook is done at the top level to a large extent. I think his brand can be 'rebuilt' to a certain degree, in an illusion type way that is very typical in boxing, and build him back into another big fight against an elite, in which he will lose big again, but in terms of being an actual force.... a p4p type fighter, I think its over for Brook. Would love love love to be proved wrong here though. Anyways, his rebuilding process is going to be made so much harder due to him not making 147 very well... thats his only real shot though imo. Since he probably wont fight again at 147... his rebuilding at 154 should be - Algieri (offer him a decent payday to bring him up) - Vargas (offer him a decent payday to bring him up) - A barnburner against James Kirkland in the UK (somewhat risky but really... if Brook cant beat a drained, inactive, past it, part time fighter like Kirkland then....) after those three fights, would probably be about 1.2 years or so, then top his comeback off with a big fight against the likes of Bradley, Cotto, or Khan, if he finally takes it. That would be my plan if I was his handler. Stay well away from any legit 154 first or second tier operator, and just bring up welterweights to fight at 154.
If Kell Brooks manager even suggested this fight I'd punch him. Brook needs to find the least threatening fighter with the biggest name next.
Brook vs. the not quite as good Charlo. Jermell, while not the quite the specimen his brother Jermall is, is still a dangerous guy, he's still gonna hold a size advantage and despite Brook being the smaller guy I don't think he holds a speed advantage either. It's a 50/50 fight. Not sure Brook beats any of the top echelon JMWs (stylistically the best fight for him would've been Canelo).
Brook will be fighting in a weight class that suits him more than his previous 2 fights, and both his eyes will be repaired now. He'd win this at a canter. Charlo is not a big puncher. He's just knocked out some glass chinned fighters- he has less than 50% ko ratio- which is nowhere near as dangerous as an undersized Brook had with GGG or a drained Brook had with Spence, and Charlo's not a particularly good boxer either- he was getting his ears boxed off by John Jackson- before that aforementioned glass chin went. Brook wide UD or late stoppage.
Once a quitter always a quitter! He'll take the big pay days and quit before he gets KTFO. He needs to rematch Porter so he can get overhyped again. It's his only notable win.
glass eyes is done.....he can fight cab drivers at 154 but put him in with a world beater and he may go blind......sad end to a protected fighter
Same here. I do see Kell moving to 154, but Charlo is a long way off at this moment in time. I think Kell would have to pretty much start from scratch at 154 and work his way up. Even then, it still could be a step too far imo
All that means is that Kell Brook has more balls than brains. In your world a promoter has no responsibility to look out for a fighter's welfare?
charlo. no doubt. i wont pick brook to beat any top guy. hes to injury prone atm. and i advised him to go blind. im no doctor . but just if i were kell i'd be scared im gonna go blind so i call it a day for sure.
