Netflix boxing! So many online services such as Netflix are coughing up big money for just about anything. And Netflix CEO stated that they have had too many hits. Meaning they can easily take more risks. FNF on Netflix please!
100% agree and can't see how Netflix and fans wouldn't win! If Netflix has the budget for sandler movies - throw some $$ to Arum, Hearn - whoever really!
probably not random, cause i sometimes think about this, and a recurring random thought sounds like an oxymoron, but i wonder how different boxing would be today if the trend was to be stricter on illegal tactics. holding, for example, what if a refs instructions to fight out of a clinch was penalised if you continue to hold. its not hard to tell which fighter is holding to prevent punches from being thrown. how different would some fights, some careers, have gone if they had been forced to straight up box like the rules intended. ive never liked the idea of a fight being determined by who can bend the rules the best. i dont mind rough housing, it is a fight after all, i just dont like anything that diverts from actual fighting.
Expecting Kovalev to ko Ward this time around. Don't know what new tactics will surface on either side though. Initially thought Ward will come out strong and fast...but that is not his style. Thinking he will grapple and headbutt wanting to take the fight into the later rounds hoping Kov will gas. Thinking Kov will be a heat seeking missile hell bent on destroying Ward and early. A lot depends on conditioning and trying to avoid Ward's WWE maneuveurs this time. I do think Ward is going down to stay this time. of course, that is what I would like so, like many, I tend to predict it. One thing certain, we will all be watching. On the edge of my seat ...hope everyone enjoys a great fight and noone is seriously hurt. damn it.....why can't they have the fight this saturday? another week seems like six months.
How good would Naseem Hamed of been had he been discaplined enough to work off a jab, have a game plan and try win rounds rather than just land that glory shot, would it made him good enough to beat Barrera or would it take away what was special about him?
I've thought this too. What a talent naz was! but hey if Manny steward can't get through to him - who could have? He had a good run but MAB took his fighters heart. Naz can say hand problems (he had the $$$ to fix) or he can say making weight (he could've moved up). I think MAB took his confidence and he never recovered imo. And I think we're seeing the same now with Broner post Maidana...at least naz didn't have to box as he made his $$$. Oh and what made naz special...obviously awesome talent with power & the gift of the gab
I am still calling Ward by a SD or a wider UD than last time. I just don't think Krusher can catch him again tbh. I also feel that Canelo might survive to see the final round but I just cant see him hurting GGG
I've been thinking about this as well. Can't be random Furthermore, I've been wondering, seeing how a lot of fighters are eager to throw punches to the body and the back of the head while hugging/clinching, has anyone been stopped like that. Chances are slim but still
Great thread Kirk... On the GGG-Canelo & Kovalev-Ward fights. ?? Like always I hope that both are fair fights with the LEGITIMATE best man on the night getting the win Sadly most people think that may not be the case, I'm one of them,. lets hope were wrong though Personally Id like to see Kovalev & GGG gettimg the wins I feel they deserve as I respect both fighters
If Roy jones met his tarver right after his foray to the lightheavy division. Would we still be refering him as superman? Or he got his mandible shattered again and again?
I was right on the money for Ward Kova 1 prediction: Ward by decision but gets knocked down early. I'm leaning towards Kova by KO in the rematch.
