Eddie announced another return to monte carlo on his IG live the other day, for November 4th. The actual place is luxurious although I felt as if the card in its self last time was extremely boring

Card had potential on paper and had one cracking fight between Sosa and Smith.

I like the idea of another Monte Carlo show, but the matchmaking has to be bang on.

What is the capacity and any idea what ticket prices were like last time?

i thought the card was quite good, McDonnell was in a competitive fight, Smith was quite competitive but lost quite comftably, Ortiz scott was a stinker, on paper that could have been a great ko for ortiz, murray was fighting a much smaller guy in a boring fight. But i wouldnt mind seeing another show there with a couple more competitive fights.

Everything that makes matchroom shows so good ( the crowd) taken away. Not really sure why they do it. Are ticket revenues that much better or is it a ego thing?

I think it's a loss maker, because good fighters will see it as a neutral ground (they are unlikely to be robbed) so in these type of cards, I think you'll see some Matchroom fighters take on solid B/A level competition.

Price per head is through the roof I'd imagine in a venue that holds 2000 tops.

It's the same venue that held the GGG/Murray fight so I'd imagine ticket sales are the principle driver of revenue and not a rights fee.

Not a fan of these shows, the atmosphere is awful, would much rather Eddie stick to UK based shows than trying to rub shoulders with the filthy rich casual fans in places like Monte Carlo.

Eh Day taking the boxing to his 'filthy rich friends' - he's one of their own.
