Many punters in sport have been shafted by what was claimed to be simple errors when the reality was that they were paid large sums of money by organised criminals to record deliberate errors.

The example below is from a tennis match and there have been many incorrect football scores displayed with goals scored by the wrong team etc.

I find it hard to believe that a qualified judge and a supervisor failed to identify the boxers - fook me there are only two fighters, a blue and red corner and a supervisory sense check of the cards.

Fraudsters go for the easiest scam and the easiest to defend is incompetence as difficult to prove.

Robert Smith, general secretary of the British Boxing Board of Control, said it was the wrong scorecard, which is obvious, and that Mr Sammartino will not be returning to these shores.

He can have no complaints. Mistake or not, he should be heavily fined and suspended imo

The 'big deal' is that it wasn't corrected though. It was allowed to be announced! Also the cards are literaly marked 'red corner' & 'blue corner' to avoid precisely this error! So it WAS a a 'big deal'.

I don't think you lot know how hard it is to pick red or blue, it's not that easy.

What you talking about "no big deal"? This was a world title fight and he was assigned and paid to judge the fight correctly, and something else to point out is both boxers had their suremanes on their trunks so how could he not spot that.

I honestly don't know how there is no comeback on these judges, be it incompetence or cheating, it has to be dealt with. How can the man justify getting paid whilst getting it that wrong?
