Ward ain't no Pascal and Kovalev being angry don't change nothing. He still has to bring better skills to the table.

This thread is a repeat of the thread that said Ward has the mental edge, so might as well repost this here...

An angry, irritable boxer rarely beats the calm, assured boxer. When Kovalev was angry against previous opponents, it was against opponents who didn't possess qualities that could truly trouble him, and he was going to beat them anyway. Anger is almost never beneficial for a boxer.

I kind of accepted that Kovalev's anger about not getting what he felt was the decision he deserved would help him focus in training, but I don't think it's a good look to be as irritable as he is two days before. It just can't help. But it should sure make for more fun. Can't wait till the bell rings.

Do NOT project YOUR cowardliness onto Andre Ward. Ward has stepped into the ring with some of the toughest men in the world, including Kovalev. Just because YOU would be afraid of an angry Kovalev does not mean Andre is afraid. You, sir, trolls message boards from the safety of your keyboard. Ward is about to step into the ring... for the second time with a boxer who has killed a man in the sport. Keep AFRAID out of your mouth when referring to boxers. Feel free to use it when referring to all of us message board warriors...

SOB clearly lost the first fight, the punch stats show it, Harold Lederman's card showed it, Floyd Mayweather told SOB that he lost that fight! It was not even close, Kovalev won, Kovalev's skills are better, his jab, right hand and left hook, body punhes, he wants to kill SOB, send him back down into the sewer from which he came, SOB's games did not work.....................

Ward won't like the way he looked at kovalev like a boy when he pointed at him like his dad

Anger only works on fighters who are intimidated by it, That's how bullies rule, it works on 99% of people who are intimidated by it but sometimes along comes one of the rare ones who don't fold under pressure, they thrive on it, they rise to the occasion, the more pressure the better they perform. That's not to say they don't experience the fear but they are not controlled or compelled but it, it enables them to perform at a higher level.

Mayweather is the master of this and i see aspects of it in ward. When a fighter is angry he is more predictable, He is more likely to telegraph his punches,He is less patient he is more likely to reach in, He becomes frustrated easily. He burns more nervous/mental energy all these things play into the hands of a pure boxer with high levels of composure. Its not good for fighters who panic and worry and start overthinking and making mistakes them selves.

Boxing is far more mental than physical, Kovalev has a strong intensity in his angry approach, Ward has strong intensity in his mental fortitude. This will come down to who cracks mentally first. I like both fighters, from everything i have seen so far from the first fight and what has happened afterwards, I have ward making a statement in this fight. Weather that's a clear decision or even a knock out.

    Good insight here..........

But I feel you are understating kovalevs mental fortitude.Regadless from what I seen from kovalev he performs better when he is angry and this could back fire for ward.

I also disagree with you when you say boxing is more mental then physical I feel both is even you can be the most mentally tough person but if you don't have the physical it means nothing

Kovalev clearly won in the first fight and that kovalev was bad in my opinion at his best he destroys ward

In all seriousness, what exactly is wrong with you? Why such vitriol towards a guy who doesn't even know you exist?

You are by FAR one of the worst posters on here. Uninformed, uneducated, terrible grammar, and just plain vile and disgusting in your overall disposition (I'll try to avoid using words with more than 2 syllables in them just for you.)

You have very little knowledge of the sport, and you just come off like a bitter, resentful person all the time. Grow up already, you can't be that young. I hate even quoting your awful posts, but someone needs to call you out on your disgusting ways.
