If the sanctioning bodies and NSAC had any ****ing common sense, they would over-turn this decision and either DQ Ward, or judge it a no contest. This is just killing boxing, only two months on from one of the best ever HW performances with Klitschko and Joshua, we have a card filled with bull**** stoppages and foul tactics; and we even ****ing knew before the fight that Ward was going to lead with his head and hit low. It's all he's got.
It's unfortunate, but it's what it is. This is who Ward is. And it gives more insight into why he always tried to fight in California and in the USA. Not everyone is going to let these things happen, or reward Ward for it on the scorecards.
I said this in another thread -- Ward fights in a style he has to fight in, given his physical gifts and limits. This is the only way he can fight and be successful, and so you will never really see him fight any other way. This is how his fights will look. Good or bad, win or lose. Which means there is often going to be controversy attached to them.
Kovalev should've asked Putin to call in a favor to Trump for this fight because he got paid jack sh_it to get hit in the nuts and got waived off by yet another American ref and had three American judges. lol Kov. should fire Kathy Duva and start training with Lomachenko's team.
It was a rough fight. To be honest the ref didn't do much, both fighters were fouling with low blows and rabbit punches though. Kovalev honestly should have responded back low and Ward would have cut it out or a low blow fest would have started
