If he was out on his feet after the right hand he wouldn't have been able to move and survive. What have you been smoking?

He was shaken and hurt. The round was clearly going Ward's way and most likely the rest of the fight. The stoppage was BS.

I agree that it should have been a count not a stoppage.

Well we wont agree so i wont try to convince you. I think the right hand he took caused more problems than the supposed low blows. My only problem was the stoppage. shouldve been an 8 count.

When you get hit in the balls in the beginning of the round, then get hit with a hard shot to the head, then hit again in the nuts... yea I would be crouched over too lol...early stoppage

A count would have been fair. Ward was landing low but Kovelev didn't give Weeks any confidence that he could defend himself. Particularly with the way he bent down earlier in the fight after low blows.

I'm just disappointed with the result of the fight in that manner.

The fight was close... I had it 4 to 3 rounds for Ward even though Kovalev was more busy and landed more shots... early stoppage I think everyone will agree to that

This. Not sure but it seemed like Kov came out like a house on fire and by the 5th clearly slowed down. I knew he was finished in the 7th. That round you could clearly see the momentum shift. Good fight though. The great year for boxing continues. Unfortunately Mr. Nyquil will set things back a bit in August.

    Pretty much identical placement.

They don't have to be literal ball busters, you're a man dude. the whole region below the belt line is vulnerable fatty tissue, you know that.

A low blow is called low because it's a hit in the nuts that hurts. Anything side from that is the body and you do have muscles there it's not like it's fat. You can feel it for yourself unless you're a fat person then you can't.

No, how come ward didn't knock him down or out earlier? Kovalev knocks out or beats most lhw but when you get to an elite level you can't always rely on your power. Sorry but at the end of the day ward beats kovalev 9 times out of 10.

Without that right hand I don't think the ref stops the fight. It was a poor stoppage at best. As a boxing fan I was a bit shocked. Kovalev was done though. I think this stoppage gives him a chance to come back.

Not true at all. Hip punches, legs, the entire pubic region(bladder, dick, balls)...all illegal painful blows.

Uh no...it's the bladder. And it is vulnerable, dangerous, and painful. Self defense classes actually teach the bladder as an alternative to hitting the balls.

A bladder blow is absolutely not legal. Why do I have to explain this? The pubic region is off limits, period. And once more, same region Bowe was getting blasted.

I don't know, brother. I have never worn a cup in any fight or sporting or otherwise physically risky endeavor. When my balls have suffered, it's because I ****ed up somehow. Maybe it'll look different to me after watching this fight several times over the next few weeks. But from watching the fight and seeing the replays, I don't see it.
