Very tough position he's at now in his career, and at 34 years old he doesn't have that much time left to pick up the pieces. Where does he go on from here?

No idea. Probably wouldn't be able to get Stevenson into the ring, there aren't any other glamour fights in the division. Joe Smith Jr. would probably be up to a showdown though.

I'm sure he wants to fight Ward again, but in reality I'm not sure I'd advise him to do so if I'm his management. At least not if the fight is going to take place in the USA with USA judges and a USA ref.

It seems clear that Kovalev is going to be on the disadvantaged side in that equation.

Feed the racist to Bivol, Beterbiev, or Gvzodyk. Ward took his soul. Those guys will finish whatever is remaining of him.

He would annihilate Stevenson, but I don't think Adonis will ever fight him.

The guy needs to get a new trainer and team that he is happy with and have 1-2 fights to rebuild his confidence.

Knock out Stevenson or Beterbiev. Only then will a rematch make sense.

Anything but a rematch. Boxers should not fight martial artist. Eve less cheating ones. He can entertain us still in a great many fights

Problem is, neither Duva's nor HBO have shown willingness to invest in him and at this point he will never become a PPV attraction who could recoup any investment. They can't or won't pay what it would take to rebuild him, if it could even be done.

So probably one tune-up and then cash him in.
