I remember when people were saying Ward would never fight Kovalev and than later saying he would not fight the rematch. He's done both and won twice. A gold medalist, undefeated and heading to the boxing hall of fame.
Yeah, he's a great boxer, big deal, but he doesn't get credit because he's a cheater who gets protected by the officials.
He deserves all the credit in the world. He put on a brilliant performance, stopping Kovalev. Too bad about the low blows, a cleaner less controversial victory would have been preferred, however there's not enough of a controversy to taint the victory, but obvioulsy Kovalev fans will vehemently disagree. Still a thrilling fight.
I give him credit, he was better than in the first fight and he's probably p4p #1 right now. That's not inconsistent with saying that the fight ended unsatisfactorily with a low blow.
