Remember when people said ggg would beat ward?

What would you say if GGG hit Ward with a punch that was clearly low and the referee stopped the fight? GGG is a legit body puncher. Hopefully Weeks is the referee for the GGG-Canelo fight because GGG has to be salivating after seeing last night.

 

If you've got to run to a bigger p4p fighter as your GGG boogeyman, you're already admitting how good you really believe he is.

 

We don't know that for sure. At 175 I would agree. But at 168 a couple years ago in GGG's prime you never know. Golovkin is the best conditioned MW in the world and also one of the hardest punching and more durable as well.

Ward was always going to win at least 118-110 against Golovkin.
People shouldn't go out of their way to bet against a fighter who proved himself in great style against elites. Ward is the truth and let's not forget he's the same guy who has the single greatest resume of any singular amateur tournament I've ever seen (Olympics 2004). He proved he's the truth 13 years ago.

 

True, but if you studied American history you would have realized that due to a myriad of reasons Andre Ward is considered a black guy in America.

Though with time that may change, but he's still culturally a black guy. Especially now that he's married to a black woman and has black kids.

You look at a guy like Derek Jeter who is mixed race as well, but sort of passes as a white guy in America. Because a lot of it is social. Jeter has assimilated into the larger culture and dates white women.

 

True, I don't think GGG can beat him. Ward always ends up exploiting your weakness except for that first fight against Kovalev he's always won clear. Sergey's power, quickness and timing bothered him, but once he made Kova work he gassed and took him out.

GGG has an absolute absurd chin and gas tank. Better than Ward's. But Ward would exploit his lack of height, size, speed and head movement.

Ward finds a way to expose your weakness. Kova's is stamina. And Golovkin's weakness would get exposed as well. His lack of speed would be a problem.

 

An A side who sells 170k PPV's who fights in papered houses and whose promoter loses money on every one of his fights including last night? Seriously? There is no way you believe this. Even GGG sells more tickets and doesn't lose his promoter money every time he fights.

 

Ward isn't a 'black' guy. His kids aren't 'black' either.

 

Since race is a social construction and Americans view him as black he can be a black guy. The average African American in America is 24% European in DNA. But they are still considered black people. Again if you read about history and learned about all this stuff you would piece it together.

A bigger p4p fighter was everybody's bogeyman and Ward beat him twice.

What sort of a top p4p level fighter won't even move up one division? GGG will never match the risks Ward took.

He had his Kovalev with Ward and he ran away to fight Lemieux instead. That says a lot about hoe good he really is.

 

GGG has average more power punches per round than any MW in recent memory. This guy used to average over 100 punches a round and not even looked tired at all.

 

I grew up in a poor, mostly black neighborhood, and Ward would've taken a ton of flak for not being black enough. I can guarantee you he's heard that 1000 times in his own life.

Many blacks only claimed mixed kids as black once they got famous or if they were around mostly white people because the dude who's half black might ve been the closest they had to another "real" brother.

A number of good, honest, hardworking people got out of the hood, and those people got their "black card" taken away even with black parents. There's no way a dude with a white dad didn't deal with that BS. But those same guys that are bitter as hell are pros at playing that victim card.
