making excuses for Kov. Kov didn't react like he got hit low. He reacted like he was tired and hurt. You can feel when a man has been broken and Wards bodyshots eventually got to Kov. He roughed Kov up, never flinched when Kov landed, took his best shot and gave one. The excuses are just making it worse.

Kovs belt line was above and at the navel. The punches were legit. The low blow before the big right hand was on the belt one in the pit of the stomach. The last 3 punches Kov was bent over. Ward wasn't landing low. And that's not why Ward won. Ward was going to finish Kov either that round or the next.

Ward exposed Kovs flaws in a big way and I don't know if Kov can go on and fight at this level now. Ward was mean last night. Mean. Great game plan too. Anger doesn't win fights skills do and Roy Jones Jr was so on point last night. One of Roys better performances on the mic lol.

Nah. Kov complained, but Ward knew that Kov was hurt to the body.

The whining is almost aggravating. It's almost hilarious.

That punch Ward threw in the 8th to the chin was a thing of beauty. It was like ballet or something. So savage and committed yet so precise. And then falls away to the side gracefully.

The last punch before the stoppage was on the capital "B" well below the belt line.
Regardless of Kov's condition before that punch, a fight should not be stopped for an illegal blow.

No he didn't, because those were legal shots right on the solar plexus, they weren't close to Kovalevs nuts.

You wanna see how someone reacts to actually being hit low go watch Golota-Bowe.

Kovalev's failure to adapt was terrible.

There were other low blows throughout the fight and all he did was look at the damn ref. The first time Weeks did nothing, he should've retaliated.

I didn't like the ending sequence, but he was bound to lose on points even if he'd survived. Ward was willing to turn it up to notches Kovalev wasn't. Scoring with the jab early was nice and effective, but he gave up the body attack way too early.

Andre took awhile to get his own offense going, so I had him down slightly, but he was coming on and had a gameplan he stuck to. I don't blame him for doing everything the ref allowed. It's up to Kovalev to adjust to that, and he didn't.

Sore loosers keep harping on about the final shot like it would have made a diffrence, Yes the final shot was low but its still irrelevant, Kovalev was already finished, it was game over after that huge right hand kovalev did the skanky leg and was all over the place, hes lucky he didn't get layout out cold. If that last shot or even couple of shots were not low he still would have got starched out cold just look at the state he was in, The way it ended was unfortunate but stop desperately trying to kid your selves that he wasn't already finished.

I felt it was a bad stoppage to I wanted to see Kovalev quit between rounds and do a no mas. The ref robbed us of that great moment and finish.

That is the face of a broken man who wanted out. No complaints from Kovalev at all when the ref stopped the fight.

Its not irrelevant. A fight should never be stopped on an illegal punch. Unless you are DQing the guy who threw the punch.

The last punch was low. Instead of being stopped Kov should have had up to 5 to continue.

Whether you and everyone else think he was done is irrelevant.

There are rules to the sport.

You admitted the punch was low. Fine. Let's change it then. What if it was an obvious headbutt? Should it still be a tko?

Let me add a football analogy. 5 seconds to go. A team is on the 5 yard line. They pass for the winning touchdown in a tie game BUT the line judge has thrown a flag for offensive holding. Should the TD stand or should the penalty be enforced?

If you know anything about pro football you know the answer. The penalty is enforced and the TD is waived off.

The rules matter. And this was an obvious low blow
