The 3 left hooks to the body that Ward landed right at the end of the fight could not be seen

    I reviewed the HBO telecast, and the final 3 left hooks to the body that Ward landed with Kovalev on the ropes could not clearly be seen from the HBO telecast.

    The first one looked like it landed above the belt-line, the 2nd one looked like it landed on the belt-line, and the 3rd one appeared to be the one that landed low.

    But we could not actually see where those punches landed from the HBO telecast. Not from the live camera which Kovalev's back was facing the camera, and not from the replays that HBO showed during Ward's interview which were obstructed because Weeks was blocking the view of where the punches landed.

    Apparently after the fight there was an additional camera angle released on the internet which only showed the worst of the 3 left hooks in slow motion, which was the last of the 3 hooks shown.

    I'm creating this thread to ask if anybody has seen a clear view of the other 2 hooks, the first two hooks that Ward threw? Those first two appeared to be legal, but it was hard to tell from the camera angles on the HBO telecast.

    Obviously the 3rd one was low which was the one circulating throught the internet, but what about the first two hooks. Were those first two legal punches? If someone wants to make that argument that all 3 of those hooks were low, then please provide the footage. Otherwise are we under the impression that only the last one was low, and that the first two hooks were OK?

    Very good and simple point that hasn't been made enough in the aftermath of this fight. You really can't tell if they are low or not. One of them definitely is low but does that warrant the fight being overturned? No. Does it take away from the masterful performance and beating of Kovalev? I personally don't think so. Ward was making a point of going to the body, anyone who has ever boxed even a little bit knows that when the trunks are that high up, especially against a tall opponent it is really really easy for a punch to land on the belt line or slightly under, especially if you are throwing a barrage of punches. Those belt line punches are being landed on his belly button. Most refs will tell fighters who have trunks that high that they don't consider beltline shots low, you hear it prefight all of the time.

    Yeah the alternate view that showed where the last punch landed only showed the last punch, which was the lowest of the 3 left hooks. There were two other views of all 3 hooks, and both had the view obstructed. (the live broadcast of the view was obstructed as well)

    So we have no camera footage apparently showing where those first two hooks landed. But they appeared to each be legal punches. The first one appeared to land above the belt-line, and that first left hook really seemed to hurt Kovalev the most out of all of those 3 hooks. The 2nd appeared to be slightly lower, but not as low as the 3rd. And even the 3rd punch, though it was low, it was pretty darn close to the belt-line. I'm just not buying this idea that Ward was fighting dirty or intentionally throwing low blows. It's complete BS. I don't know how many times I've read online people complaining that Ward threw 3 consecutive low blows to end the fight or some other BS like that. We literally have not been able to get a clear view of those first two hooks.
