Had Kovalev landed those blows would he have been DQ'd?

With the 1 sided contract negotiations it wouldn't surprise me if there was a large fine if it went to DQ for either fighter.

Bingo, I mentioned yesterday in a different thread that I was disappointed in Kovalev for not firing back low on Ward. When a ref isn't protecting you from fouls, you take matters into your own hands.
Cant think of a true great who wouldn't have responded back with the same fire Ward was dishing out.

Having said that, of course Kovalev would have been reprimanded and maybe even disqualified had he ended Ward with the multiple low blows Ward landed on him.
The HBO broadcast team would have gone nuts in disgust had the ref ignored those types of low blows had it been Kovalev landing on Ward.
    No doubt!

he'd have had a point deducted for 2 blows, but if one came a second befre the fight ended, it wouldnt happen.

Kovalev would have been disqualified just like Golota was. There are no rules for SOB Ward, none at all, and there were no rules when Rigo cheated.............

It all boils down to fighting in the lions den. That's what Kovalev had to agree to to make the fight. And when you are in the lions den you play by the lions rules.

It was not a case of Ward taking his act on the road and fighting in Kovalev's backyard, was it?

Boxing really is a simple sport and really comes down to the 1 big thing in any sort of controversy---follow the money. When does the big money ever get screwed? When was the last time an Arum/King/Heyman/etc fighter got screwed?

And Kovalev is not a guy that display much in the way of boxing brains. More like a hitter and that's about the depth of his game. Big advantage to Ward in the thinking and savvy department. But everyone still thinks a big punch always overcomes ringsmarts, don't they?

Blah, blah, blah, enuff said, Kovalev left all his fight in the locker room and made Ward a God for the Pagans-
    no more excuses.

Whoever made that video needs to get their timings correctly. Look for instance even in the youtube link picture it shows a picture a few milliseconds after the blow landed with wards glove slightly higher when it was on impact. Like if that video was legit, and unbiased that picture in the description would show the glove on the "B" which is now common knowledge of where the glove landed.

Thanks. I wrote that on one hour's sleep in around 36 hours, and 5 hours sleep in about 60. It was all stored upstairs and it just flowed out quickly. Truth has a way of doing that.

When two fighters live in the same country, there's no need for "neutral" judges. If Kova doesn't like American boxing officials, why is it that he lives and fights here? Why has he only fought in Russia twice since 2010?

As for the OP's question, Kova wasn't DQ'd for repeated rabbit punches, several of what his own fans are calling "low blows" where he hit Ward on the waistline of the trunks (and two shots where he hit Ward on the leg, well below the waistline) nor for putting headlocks and chokeholds on Ward in clinches.

So, no, he wasn't DQ'd for his offenses. It was a rough, physical and, at times, dirty fight on the part of BOTH guys. The winner is the one who prevailed and didn't whine about it.

LOL. Your boy lost and you are losing sleep over it.

But nice prose, if a bit fantasy-full.

    Which lowblows? those ones?

    https://imgur.com/h2vj9Z5

ward would have never faked like this little kovalev *****. And I'm no ward's fan, I hate his style, but man, kovalev, after what he did, he deserves the biggest ko in the world, and weeks stole it from me.

Kovalev is not half a man when he is hitten. He runs, cries and fakes like a little baby girl when he is hitten. "oooohh I'm the krusher, I'll finish your career, I promise", and all that disrespect to the opponents when the one hitting is him. He's such a man whe he hits. Look at what he does when the one being hit is he himself. Look at that! look that crying faking running baby girl!. He should be ashamed of himself.

Didnt you have enough with the gif faking the lowblows like a coward?. Here you have your warrior
    http://imgur.com/fJ2tm2z

A TRUE coward. Shame on him. Shame!

EDIT: a brave man is not the one who brags when he's winning and hitting, is the one who doesnt cry and fake when he's being hit. COWARD.

No telling. No way of knowing. You can ask all you want but answers will vary depending on personal flavor, if you know what I mean.

Don't try to insinuate Kovalev would get cheated.
