It's Pretty Clear Now - Kovalev Just Doesn't Have the Greatest Punch Resistance

If Kovalevs team and Kathy Duva are smart they'll know not to try and get Ward again just go for someone like Adonis after a tuneup or something

"If Kovalev were from a western country like the US, Canada, or the UK then I wouldn't have a problem with him being called a racist.

    Oh more justification?"

It's a an acknowledgement of a cultural background that I'm unfamiliar with. I know you'd like to think that everyone who isn't exposed to western media understands our culture or the underlying meaning behind phrases and antagonisms but that isn't the case. It certainly would make judgements on people easier. But as I said, if Kovalev had said the exact same thing today, after living the America for as long as he has, then it would not fly. Not that I ever encouraged it in the first place.

"Kovalev was hurt extremely badly before the body shots and the controversial low blows. DQ is an absolute joke, at worst it's a NC and that's a huge stretch IMO."
Assuming Kovalev could continue then at the absolute best the ref gives Kovalev 5 minutes and Ward a point. Then Ward happily cruises to his soon to be TKO victory. But the ref made the call that Kovalev was unfit to continue, and giving Ward the KO was the actual joke here.

"Post history? I'm not this ****ing invested in this wiht you."

You don't have to be. But if you're going to slander somebody then post some supporting evidence or don't bother. Otherwise you're no different from the rest of the extremists on this site.

"I accept it, now accept the fact that not everyone is going to agree with your moronic take on something. Move on."

I did, quite a while ago. Look.
"You can disagree with me all day long but I can't hate you for that. There are plenty of people on here who would have turned a blind eye and resorted to ad hominem arguments a long time ago. Those are the people I don't reply to. Consider it a complement?"

Multiple times now I've had to go back and reiterate my previous posts. You continued this conversation from that point.

"You're the one with the obsession wtih me."

Two arguments with you in my year and a half on this site is not an obsession. Both times you've carried on the argument with me. Don't make yourself into a hypocrite here. I've wore my thoughts and opinions on my sleeve this entire time. If I had a personal vendetta against you then my posts would certainly have been hostile in nature.

Didn't read this. Too many essays.

I don't know what you're trying to accomplish here. Neither of us are going to agree. I'm going to gracefully bow out. Next time do me a favor and stop trying to get much attention so much. I mean it is funny to see how butthurt you are since your guy lost, but I do feel like you've wasted a lot of my time on a pointless debate with no clear topic to debate on.

C'Mon people - Kovalev's tasted canvas before. I wouldn't say he has a horrible glass jaw, but his ability to take a punch to the head or the body is apparently not the greatest, and that seems to have played a critical role in this fight!

Zakman, if you go back and view both the 10th and 12th Rounds of the Kovalev-Hopkins fight, you will find that there was a right hand landed in each of those Rounds that had some interesting effects on the Krusher.

Credit to Kovalev for putting on a dominating boxing performance that night, but he was definitely shaken by those shots. Hopkins had barely landed anything cleanly in that fight up until that point, plus it was late and his 50 year old body had been battered.

Yeah, there is no question he was shook up. Kovalev does not have the worst punch resistance ever seen in boxing, this is true, but it's not that great either - as his fights with Boone and Ward have shown.

I expect that we will see Kovalev visiting the canvas in future fights.

Not sure I agree. He definitely gassed but to me showed good punch resistance. Ward planted his feet, put everything he had into it, and landed two solid shots and Kovalev stayed up... not to mention several shots to the nuts.

Don't think punch resistance was the issue....

Kovalev was breathing like my cousin's little English bulldog. Hurt and taking punishment with terrible, terrible body language. Nobody to blame for Weeks being ready to jump in to wave it off than himself.

You overlook something Ward is a pitbull inside very physical hits you with everything one of the most tough minded fighter. Kova has a decent chin I don't call a poor stamina I would say regular I'm sure Kova would be back and still a threat to others 175 pounders.
