But stood up like a champ and avoided further punishment. Unlike Kovalev...

Why wasn't Ward doing a chicken dance like Kovalev? Flash knock down vs jelly legged.... hmmm.

And I thought Ward slaps like a woman? Lol

You know what's crazy, I've seen terrible low blows that were clearly intentional, and yet they never get talked about. Case in point, Bernard Hopkins vs Roy Jones Jr 2, the Rematch. In that fight, seperate from all of Hopkins' antics going down from borderline stuff and all that, seperate from that, Hopkins not only landed the worst rabbit punches of the fight, and initiated the rabbit punches, whereas RJJ's fouls were merely retaliatory in nature. Besides all that, In that fight, Hopkins landed one of the worst low blows I've ever seen. He had Weeks on the other side so he really couldn't see it, but replays showed Hopkins clearly and undeniably landed an intentional, hard low blow directly to the ballls OK. And I haven't heard anyone even acknowledge that that happened. In fact most people don't even mention it when talking about how easily supposedly Hopkins beat RJJ in the rematch.

That low blow in that fight (another fight reffed by Weeks that Weeks missed) was one thousands times worse than the low blow in this Ward Kovalev fight, and no one else talks about or admits that it even happened. So I mean it's annoying that people are up in arms about something borderline here that basically takes credit away from Ward, while ignoring a much worse, much more intentional low blow in the B Hop RJJ rematch. And ya know, the crazy part is that in that fight after that low blow, RJJ didn't even react it lol. In fact RJJ came back with huge shots off the ropes that scored on Hopkins. At another point Roy was deducted apoint from Weeks for supposedly hitting B Hop on the side of his head coming out of a clinch very similar to a moment in the Ward Kovalev fight when Kovalev was off balance but Weeks got in there to make sure Ward didn't hit Kovalev with his back turned. Again we had absolutely zero discussion about how unfairly refereed that fight was that actually contributed to Hopkins winning the fight, and yet here we are with a far more benign situation acting like it was the worst thing ever. if you want to have a serious discussion about low blows, rabbit punches, point deductions, referee decisions, Tony Weeks, etc, I don't see how can you can ignore the RJJ B Hop rematch from 2010 reffed by none other than Tony Weeks. It's surreal to me that Weeks finds himself in another fight like that on Saturday with none other than the RJJ the guy involved in it who was hit with that low blow calling the fight. It's just unreal man.

Ward damn near took Kov head off. That punch was excellent I must admit. Kov should have never said that Andre hits like a girl that will go back to haunt him

Ward was the better man and it manifested its self in the ring, Kovalev was a great champion tho but ward is special, He might might not have a flashy crowd pleasing style, He may not be the most athletic or even the most talented but hes one of the rare people that can rise to the occasion when it matters the most and that's what separates the good fighters from the great fighters.

Great gif. His fans will say that was a borderline low blow to his chin or completely repress it from their memory.

Kovalev was not hurt by the right hand to the head, it was the three low blows in a row that hurt him, SOB knew how to get the most out of a low blow by punching upward, that moves the cup up and hurts like hell............that is the reason it is illegal.......................there are rules in boxing for a reason, there are no rules for SOB, only for Kovalev..................remember when Vegas boxing had an FBI investigation? Sen. McCain wanted to clean up boxing in Vegas along with another Senator.

Even after the fight his ego would not allow him to admit he was hurt from this shot! This is exactly what i have always been talking about regarding kovalev, This is the reason he can not make adjustments and doesn't evolve as a fighter. He makes excuses not adjustments, hes never in the wrong. Ward said from the jump he needed to be better, was not happy with how he started the first fight etc, This is what true champions do, always evolve and make adjustments. What did kovalev do after the first fight? cry complain blame the judges, claim ward punches like a girl, claim he overrated ward and was over trained etc.
