Roc Nation is the worst Boxing promotion possibly in history.

This is a excerpt taken from the article

"As I walked into The Event Center at The Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino on Saturday night to cover the ROC NATION promoted Ward vs. Kovalev rematch the only palpable buzz surrounding the event came from the busloads of EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival) attendees who were busy doing whatever it is they do at their event.

Outside of that there was not enough electricity coming from the event to charge a cell phone. That should have come as no surprise to me or anyone else as the weigh-in for the fight just the day before produced maybe a handful of interested fans.

Considering this was a highly anticipated rematch between two legitimate Top 10 Pound4Pound contenders it seemed odd a fight like this could fly so far under the radar. Only a few months earlier the fight promoted by Main Events produced a whole heck of a lot more interest.

ROC NATION took the reigns as lead promoter for this event Saturday night and for all intents and purposes it looked like they were driving this one right off a cliff.

Maybe things would get better once I got inside the arena.

    They didn’t."

Story of Roc Nation promoting one of the biggest fights of the year, and how they do business. And how they credentialed Ward fans, to set in press row with their girlfriends to heckle during the fight, and even the post fight presser. The rest of the story is in the link below.

    Only 1000 tickets sold?

That's real sad considering SKs purse is dependent on tickets sales and PPVs

Yep, they didn't care because Ward's money was guaranteed, but if you have to pay Ward 6 mil and you make no money on the event then how does this company make money?

Roc Nation hasn't turned a profit for any event they have promoted according to Fat Dan.

The house was just over 10,000 of which they apparently only made money on 10% of, and they barely promoted the event so it's hard to imagine PPV buys were very good. They weren't for the first one that was promoted much better. Hell people tweeted pics of the Mandalay Bay sign as they were rolling up to it and there wasn't a single mention of a fight even taken place their that weekend let alone Ward vs Kovalev 2. I even had someone reply to me on Twitter saying the sign doesn't have the fight because Ward/Kov2 is at T-Mobile not Mandalay Bay... People in Vegas weren't even sure which buidling the ****ing fight was in lol, that's how badly this thing was promoted.

That stinks, to be fair Roc Nation promotes athletes from several different sports and they don't have the experience, focus, foundation and expertise that say a Main Events would have. Hopefully they step up their game asap.

They're relatively young, they're babies to other promoters. Give it time.

Seems like it should be promoting 101 to advertise your fight at the place where you're going to hold the fight by using the venue's sign. That's more like Boxing Promotion for Dummies Chapter 1 type stuff there.

Here's the Tweet and replies where the dude replying didn't even know where the fight was taking place.

I probably did a better job promoting their fight than they did just by posting and tweeting about it

"I deserve fancy ringside seats and to be wined and dined like a lady!"

May have been poor promotion but the article came off sounding like self-entitled media bitching.
