Always? I saw this boxer win a fight after losing every single round by running and not firing back. He even had rope burns on his back from sliding against the ropes to get away. The sad reality is that judges make decisions which are glaringly biased too often and refs display attitudes which indicate clearly whose side they are on. This time even the commentators were in on the charade by claiming a low blow was legal despite the playback. So no, it isn't always a matter of the best man wins. Sometimes it's a matter of which man has the help of the ref and the judges and even those in charge of arbitrating such disputes..
If you're referring to the original posters post (me), please re-read, because it has nothing to do with what you've posted.
Why should he do that? HBO made him a millionaire. He kept calling out Ward so they gave him Ward. Whose he going to fight in Russia?
Lol. I love how one week people are declaring a fighter #1 p4p and the next saying he should retire. They did the same thing to Gonzalez. They'll do it again to Lomachenko or Golovkin. Just you wait.
He should fight stevenson (if stevenson stops stalling) and the winner fights ward Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nah, no need to retire at all. Dude's just a little weak to the body and Ward is one of the best around so was able to exploit that.
This. These are all winnable fights for him. But, Kovalev also needs to listen to his coach more. I noticed Kovalev was ignoring all of Jackson's instructions, which cost him. Kovalev also needs to develop a left hook, since Ward was going to Kovalev's body at will. For now Kovalev should stay away from Adonis and Gvozdyk, since I think the both stop him.
For real where the heck was his left hook in both those fights? GGG has a mean left hook. But Kov can punch on the move while GGG has to be set to throw
No. When a Great LHW loses, it doesn't mean he's done. He's still exceptional and fearsome. LHW is a stacked division and he's still no.2 at the weight. Get with a new trainer and a renewed love for boxing, and see what happens. Having just turned 34, he still has a couple of years left at the top.
All those guys are much further along after11-12 fights into their pro careers than Ward was at a similar stage.
non-americans obviously. His talent would have made him a millionaire without HBO. He just put too much faith into HBO, until they unmercifully screwed him over the other night.
