Promoters should pull out of Nevada and never stage any fights there. NSAC is criminal. In a perfect world they would be investigated by Nevada Dept of Justice but that will never happen.
There been trying to fix boxing for years. The FBI investigated Don King in the 80's and the State of New Jersey investigated organised crime in boxing in the 80's and nothing changed. I guess there are bigger problems for the Feds and governments to investigate and they don't bother anymore.
Correct - incompetent judging / reffing isn't a crime although some say it should be. If you want to improve the sport you start with the integrity, presence and power of the state athletic committe. You have a permanent police representative on the state governing board guaranteed by government legislation with all events held with approval of the state body and paid attendance of the state board, all officials must pass full police check and annual review. They instigated this in my state in the last four years after a corruption scandal and it has done a lot of good for boxing and the other combat sports.
Exactly, the police working together with the government services need to get involved and begin holding individuals to account for their actions. If today boxing was regulated, crooked officials such as Weeks would have been awoken on Monday morning to a No-knock warrant where officers would raid his property in order to search for the bribes and orders he received courtesy of Roc Nation.
Boxing doesn't have a competition committee which would help. I know the NFL hates controversy because it hurts their pocketbook and fan base so they seem to care about competition being fair. Does boxing really care about anything being fair? They could get rid of the issue of low blows by using sensors in their no foul protectors. Maybe add a few outside independent judges in the mix. Have the judges use TV screens instead. The technology is there.
What I am saying is this, no matter how the fight was called or judged, somebody would have had a problem with it.
Don't be so stupid. Had Ward won clearly without resorting to fouls, no one would have anything to say. He'd be rightly credited and praised for the victory. Obviously if it went to do judges and it was a split decision then there would be arguments for and against. Let me ask you, have ever seen a fight where the winner wins by finishing his opponent with an illegal move?
Accepting new technology. See how baseball on tv can show when a 100mph pitch is below the knees of the batter. It's a very objective tool.
The so-called low blow is a matter of interpretation so don't get on here acting like it's a fact. You should check yourself before you get on here and act like you are a fair and impartial poster. You see things the way you see them and other people see things the way they see them. There will always be pro's and con's.
