Jr has to beat King Arthur first and then he will take the best opportunity he gets offered. TBH I think WBSS is probably it! Wont surprise me if he enters. Unlike a lot of people I don't give blokes credit for entering these tournaments considering the money and prestige they should be jumping to get a spot. If you decline you should get a bit of stick I reckon, especially if the outcome means you get frozen out of good fights.
Jr talks like he's a natural middleweight and is only fighting @ 168 for opportunities I think its the opposite he's now a natural supermiddleweight and would only fight @ 160 for the right opportunity. I don't think people realize how big Jr is, I follow his snapchat and he is a big bloke, much bigger than when he weighs in @ 168. He claims he walks around @ 172-175 but that's clearly a bluff because he is nowhere near as dry as his weigh ins when he's in training. Jr is much, much bigger than Canelo ffs. Jr might not be big compared to Gilberto, Callum Smith and Benavidez but I actually think he's bigger than Degale (not taller) and not far off Groves. Jr is bigger than Martin Murray easily.
At 168 we can probably add Callum Smith and Tony Dirrel. Their September fight has a good chance to be happen in the WBSS. I know Lucian Bute wants in too, others too. Its gonna be a great tournament
Saw an interview with Eddie Hearn saying he wants Smith vs Dirrell to be in it, but then said they would need Dirrell to agree to fight in the tournament. I kind of got the feeling Hearn really didn't want Smith in WBSS the way he was talking (body language). Lucian Bute would be interesting
Doesn't the WBSS require that to be considered a boxer has to rank in the top 15 of a title body's rankings? Does Quinlan?
