Ask yourself why Ward stopped if he considered it a totally obvious legal blow. Also, if part of the glove goes below the lower belt line it's a low blow
Ward knows this and was counting on the ref's going along with that crafty strategy. Also, the belly button seems to be above Kovalev's belt line in that part where the ref is pointing to where it's OK to hit. Since such trunks can be used by a ref for that kind of vague doubletalk, it's best to avoid them and wear trunks without a wide white band that the ref can arbitrarily declare OK to hit and leave open to wide interpretation as needed.

In any case, that last punch was WAYYYYYY below the belt and the ref didn't really care one way or the other. So why should we assume that he cared whether the others were low or not?

 

Nobody, and i am not saying that's his fault either, I personally just think canleo is levels above anybody he has faced and canelo stops him.

That's just my opinion, I might be wrong and if i am i will hold my hands up, GGG is a heluva fighter i just think canelo got this.

Canelo p4p probably is levels above most of his opponents but at MW he struggles with Jacobs and Lemi....

It's hard to gauge Canelo at this weight because he tends to drain his opponents before fighting them, this is his first true MW test and I think thats a mistake...

 

Because Kovalev curled up into a fetal position. He didn't strike for the same reason he didn't strike when Kovalev turned his back on him.

 

Ward didn't stop him with power... He stopped him with a low blow and poor refereeing....

 

Amateur fights don't count as professional fights dummy.

 

lol this is a stupid way to look at any fight, Its like saying a fighter is undefeated and based on this he will never be defeated, it doesn't matter if somebody has never been dropped or knocked out.
