Fighters always say they're gonna retire. It's hard for them to stay away for a variety of reasons. I rarely take these comments seriously.

JC Chavez was supposed to have retired many times, including after the Kostya Tszyu loss, and then a had a "farewell tour". Mike Tyson claimed retired after Michael Spinks. Sugar Ray Leonard retired after the 1976 Olympics, in 1982, again in 1984 after Kevin Howard, I think in 1987 after Marvin Hagler, in 1991 against Terry Norris, and finally for good after Hector Camacho in 1997. Bernard Hopkins was supposed to stop fighting by the time he hit 40. Oscar De La Hoya said he was going to retire by 30.

Ward was gonna retire after the first Kov fight, unless the numbers made sense according to Duva.

As a fan I'd love to see how GGG would do. But GGG will be a wealthy man after the Canelo fight. Will he want that work? Does he need that work? Possibly get beat up to make like 4-5million? Truth is he can fight a popular British fighter and make the same.

GGG Ward would sell 400k at most. There's only so many of us core fans. And Ward would easily demand like 8 million taking 60 percent of the pot.

Really don't ever see it happening. After seeing what Ward did to Kov there's no doubt in my mind that Ward beats GGG and makes him look bad

Golovkin wants to fight Saunders first, them retire. However, El Pollo will land a lot of very low blows since they are legal in Vegas, but only for the fighter who had the right promoter, Roc Nation or Oscar..............

GGG is slowing down big time, just go watch some of his early bouts and compare them to his recent bouts. Get the victory and get out I say because a loss is inevitable in the not too distant future.

GGG already sparked out Kov out cold in sparring with 16oz gloves on and he broke George Groves' rib in sparring and made him quit. He also holds UD over Canelo in sparring so he's already a 4 weight world champion.

Unify. That coward Stevenson won't fight him though. Would be an interesting fight. But if Ward takes away his left, which he can probably do, Stevenson would be done.

GGG doesn't beat Ward. No chance.

He got his epic fight right at the end of his career perfect!

What other way to end your career with knocking out the most popular fighter in the sport in vegas and on a Mexican holiday?

I think he can retire if he beats Canelo & be considered the best MW of his era. That is all a MW can ask.

He will have beat the Lineal, #2 & #3 Ring ranked MW'S (him being ranked #1) I am fine with that. If he chooses to retire, good luck it's been a pleasure following him.

Golovkin knocking out canelo in vegas on a Mexican holiday will solidify his ATGness p4p king what a way to bow out..........

But I think that wont be his last fight their might be a rematch even if Golovkin destroys canelo then he might fight saunders and call it a day.
