People are too quick to judge, once he's dealt with all of his voluntary defences, then he will deal with the rest.

Wilder has had five voluntary title defenses in a row and now he will fight an old, out of shape, fat, inactive, wino lik Stiverne. Wilder has zero chance vs. Joshua or Vlad, or Povetkin, or anyone else who can punch back, Vitali should come out of retirement and force a fight with Wilder as he is the WBC Emeritis..........Wilder has also refused to fight Vlad for years...........

The only thing I take from that is that Wilder wants to "f**k him up", but won't take the fight, which basically means he wants to, but knows he can't.

Is anyone really surprised? Wilder clearly is happy milking his belt and has never really made any effort to step up and chase better fights. Sure he calls out fighters when they are tied up by rematches and mandatory defences and so can't call his bluff immediately but has he ever made a solid offer to one of the top guys? Clearly no he hasn't.

7 million for Whyte is a joke, Wlad when champion and selling out 40K stadiums in Germany was making around that much and neither Whyte or Wilder are anywhere near that level in terms drawing power. Asking for 7 million is a clear duck, he'd be lucky to get much more than that fighting Joshua let alone Whyte.

I think I'm more disappointed than surprised. I genuinely wanted to see Wilder in the best to see if he can step up, but after this duck, we now know that's never going to happen.

Agree with the rest. Asking for 7 mill when his last purse was 900k is laughable. He knows that if he takes this fight and wins, then him vs AJ is as good as made, but all he's interested in doing is talking about it and pricing himself out of a fight that would make the AJ fight a mega fight. Instead he will end up fighting in Alabama, to a half empty arena against some fringe fighter/journeyman. He's the WBC heavyweight champion of the world.... time to start acting like it.

I do hope this is Wilder playing the game and holding out for some more money... because although on the face of it sounds like a great offer I do think there is more money if this goes PPV.

Most of the comments are spot on... Its disappointing if he out right just doesn't want the fight especially for the reasons he gives.

He says Hearn knows who he really wants - AJ... Well AJ is unavailable so is Parker so unless your going to fight Ortiz... Whyte is the next best fight and surely the best money deal for him.

The reality is and surely its not lost on his team... the winner of Wilder/Whyte is AJ's opponent in a stadium next summer!!

I take his point that unless he bangs him out in under 7 rounds he is going to be compared to AJ's win by some but is it not worth it... either way if he wins he is fighting Joshua... and there are plenty of other fighters that have fought the same opponent it happens its not a reason to not fight someone.

Wilder should see the bigger picture, it would be great UK exposure to fight Dillian Whyte and it makes the AJ fight even bigger. Plus the fact that Whyte is better than Arreola, Duhappas, Molina, Washington and Szpilka.

Wilder isn't really well known to the casuals here in the UK.
He needs Whyte or Haye to make himself known over here.

If someone is scared of Dillian Whyte they should rethink their career choices.

My first thoughts of Wilder's instagram post.

Mr. Wilder, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
