Just re-watched the GGG/Jacobs fight, not a robbery.

    It was definitely a fight that could have gone either way. So many swing rounds.
    I had it.

    R1 G
    R2 J
    R3 J
    R4 G
    R5 G
    R6 J-Initially I had it for G the first half but listening to Kevin Kelly praise Jacobs so much might have swayed this round for me.
    R7-J
    R8-J
    R9-G
    R10-J
    R11-J-Initially I gave this to G, but then I saw the right hook and left hook land FLUSH on G during the replay, so I gave it to Jacobs. Close round. GGG was definitely doing some nasty work with the jab.
    R12-G

    114-113 Jacobs, but rounds 1-3 were all razor tight, and there were far more swing rounds. Definitely had a slight bias for Jacobs when scoring, though I was trying to give GGG rounds towards the end since I had GGG needing a knockout to win on my card.
    I could also definitely see 115-112, and 114-113 G. Golovkin did not look good though. One thing I noticed was that he was heavily right hand hunting when Jacobs went south paw and kind of abandoned the jab, he was missing with that right hand a lot besides round 4 obviously when he got the knockdown. Jacobs did a lot of things to confuse GGG, can Canelo use this in his gameplan? I always had GGG clearly beating Canelo, and Canelo is shorter and smaller than Jacobs, also does not have the same footwork, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is also a razor close fight.

    It was a clear win for GGG it was just people never seen GGG go 12 rounds in 10 years which made it closer.......

    Golovkin had also got the knockdown and hurt Jacobs in round 10 badly but got saved by the bell

    That was round 9 not 10. And I'd appreciate not having awful posters comment on this thread. I'd like to hear the input of less biased members.

    I might even have been more biased to GGG in this fight because I went into watching the fight again thinking that Jacobs was landing on the gloves, elbows, etc. But then I'd see the replay and even though the shots were not landing clean, they were still landing on the side of GGG's head. I tried to be fair with the close rounds, I picked and rooted for Jacobs though so obviously I do have some bias for Jacobs.

    Good thread, and thanks for admitting who you were rooting for. I was rooting for Golovkin, so have the opposite bias which I have tried to keep in check but who knows ;)

    Here's my scorecard.

    Round 1. GGG 10-9 close. Jacobs landed one combination around the 2 minute mark, as well as a few other nice shots, but GGG just landed too many jabs not to give him this round.

    Round 2. Jacobs 10-9 very close. Very, very close round. Golovkin landed more jabs, Jacobs landed a few nice counterpunches. Am giving it to Jacobs because those counter-punches were cleaner than any of Golovkin's power punches, but it would not be unfair to score it for Golovkin or even.

    Round 3. Jacobs 10-9 very close. Another very close round. Golovkin won the first half of the round easily, Jacobs came back strong in the last minute with some nice shots. Once again it would not be unfair to score it for Golovkin or even.

    Round 4. GGG 10-8. Clear Golovkin round with a knockdown, Jacobs recovered well but obviously lost the round.

    Round 5. GGG 10-9. A clear Golovkin round, Jacobs a bit cautious at the start of the round after the knockdown in the previous round.

    Round 6. Jacobs 10-9. First half of the round Jacobs uses excellent movement to evade GGG while scoring with some light punches. In the second half of the round Jacobs lands several good combinations while GGG only has a few good shots here and there.

    Halfway score: GGG 57-56 Jacobs

    Round 7. Jacobs 10-9 close. Slow start to the round, Jacobs not landing much but GGG even less. At about 1:40 GGG corners Jacobs and landed a few power punches, which Jacobs takes very well. Jacobs responds well with his own combination at 1:30. It's a close round, giving it to Jacobs as he did more work.

    Round 8. GGG 10-9 close. Another close round, Jacobs having his moments but overall GGG landed the more telling blows in this round.

    Round 9. GGG 10-9 close. Jacobs starts with a good couple of left hooks. He is edging the round, until he gets caught and buzzed a little in the last 30 seconds and GGG takes the round.

    Round 10. Jacobs 10-9. Good round with more action than some of the others. Jacobs' boxing and moving is working well, despite GGG having his moments it's a Jacobs round.

    Round 11. Jacobs 10-9. Similarly to the previous round, Jacobs' movement is allowing him to edge the round. He gets the better of the best exchange of the round.

    Round 12. GGG 10-9. GGG starts well, lands a jab. Scrappy fighting up close with neither doing much better than the other. Around 2:00-1:50 GGG lands several nice single shots. Jacobs with a couple of nice shots around 1:15-1:00. Golovkin with a 1-2 at 0:20. It's Golovkin round overall, he outlands Jacobs in this round.

    Final score: GGG 114-113.

    I just hope Jacobs stays active and focussed, if he can learn from the experience and improve further he'll be very difficult to beat at MW or SMW.

    Hmm I had rd1 close, G winning 2-5 with a KD, Jacobs coming on Strong 6-8, G winning 9 and then 10-12 close again...

    Think I scored it 115-112 for GGG...

    Our scorecards are eerily similar. I kind of wish I could have seen the fight with just the volume of the fight and better replays. A lot of rounds were so razor close and would be determined if Jacobs even partially landed some of his punches. Even though I favor clean punching. 1 Clean jab doesn't beat 3-4 partially clean shots on the side to the head for me.

    When I watched it live, I had 6 a piece with the KD making a difference. So just giving it to GGG. Since watching repeats I gave him another round. I couldn't give Jacobs 7 rounds to be honest but like you said those first 3 were real tight so I struggle to argue with anyone having it 1 or 2 either way.

    That's definitely a possible score since 2-3 were close. Def not clear Jacobs rounds. But neither was 1 and I gave it to GGG by a slim margin.

    If you can stomach some of the awful comments from what appears to be the camera man, This is a pretty good video of the fight recorded from in the arena. I have to say the way i scored the fight changed in this video than it did from the live TV version which i found very interesting.

    Good scorecard. I also had it 6-6 with the knockdown being the difference. Jacobs can fight!
