If he doesn't fight that often, he only as himself to blame. When Haymon launched PBC, GYM was on board and they wanted to showcase Beterbiev against Campillo, I believe. But when fight night was getting close, Yvon Michel told Beterbiev he needed to sign with Haymon as manager, despite already having a manager (the stunning Anna Reva), otherwise he would be fighting on the undercard of the tv card (meaning off air) against another unknown opponent because they couldn't ensure enough money to get Campillo or some BS, so he signed with him. They promised Beterbiev certain sums of money for his fights, but problem is nobody wants to fight him and he doesn't seem to want less money to ensure fights being made, and he doesn't want to fight during Ramadan... and lets not forget he refused a fight against Kovalev in Russia 2 years ago.

Now he is inactive, he dumped his former manager so she is suing him, and he is suing GYM and wants out of his contract.

how good is he really though? he is the kind of fighter who will remain exciting until you throw him in there with someone who can box and then you all will be on here with a million excuses as to why he lost. throw him in there with stevenson or joe smith so we can see some good action, throw him in there with ward and he will be exposed.

Are you talking about the purse bid for himself and Barrera? To think Kovalev paid to actually fight as he was developing himself a name. If I were Beterbiev, I would've taken the fight. Sometimes boxers themselves must take these risks.
Fighters need to earn their way to the top, and then start demanding high purses. From this angle, it definitely is partially his fault. Beterbiev is a Law graduate and likes to get his nose into all of this lol.

Not only a wrecking ball, but one of the most genuinely humble guys in the sport

If only Artur was American, a disrespectful trash talker, a deck stacker, a cheat, and of a certain skin complexion, he would have reached Tysonesque stature by now

Beterbiev, Bivol, Gvozdyk... the list goes on of boxers who make that TURD Nadslayer very nervous.

that's a good comparison in many ways--both are from former Soviet countries, both are skilled boxers with power, both had brilliant amateur careers, and both suffered the misfortune of signing with GYM to manage their pro careers.

GGG was younger though when he go away from GYM (which is also AB's mgmt) and then teamed up with K2 and Abel Sanchez.

Still as things stood in 2007, it seemed (to me at least, and based on having seen all four of his fights in the 2004 Olympics) that GGG would not likely get the fights and the exposure to become the superstar equal to his talent and experience.

so i haven't lost hope for AB, he's a phenomenal talent who i would pick to dominate LHW even though it might be the most talent-rich weight class in boxing just now

    too right!

and at that point, if AB could score a jail sentence for spousal battery and maybe a few night-club fights widely reported in the media, he's on track for ATG.

(agree 100% with the OP in this Thread, still, it's just more evidence of the sad state of this sport which i would quit today if i wasn't addicted)

His injury put the skids on his career, and the fact that he doesnt fight during Ramadan doesnt help either.

Although, assuming this fight with Kolling comes off and he wins impressively, then he becomes the mandatory and guys cant run forever

does that sound like something ward would do? The guy just fought the biggest baddest dude in the division and hes going to avoid a similar fighter who might not be as good? I hope the fight happens as Biev hits like a jackhammer with knuckles the size of plums ffs! lol!

    How?

He became manditory - the guy he was supposed to fight for challenger ducked him. As did the next in line, and the next, and....

    He's not demanding anything
