If a fighter wants to even be on the cusp of truly elite level fighter he needs to be able to pace himself in a 12 round fight and have stamina if not he will get found out. You can be the hardest hitting mofo but if you lack stamina to compete in a high level championship fight forget it because you will crumble the worst thing in boxing is being gassed and not having energy its very dangerous to be in the ring when you have energy let alone when you gas out.
This is true.. Stamina is one of the main keys to being a succesful fighter.. Without it youre screwed pretty much..
Not true. There have been numerous elite fighters with poor stamina. Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Sergey Kovalev, etc. You can be elite with poor speed. You can be elite with poor power. And you can be elite with poor stamina. It is hard though to be elite with a poor chin though.
You can't have very poor stamina. An example being Matvey Korobov, the guy with arguably the most stacked amateur resume ever. Oscar and Cotto are 8 round fighters. That's just about enough to make you last till 12.
kovalev vs ward II was poor stamina. and i kovalev really elite? for a short period of time he was elite. but his career is in progress are u sure he does to as an elite boxer? once its all said and done hes a good boxer not elite. oscar and cotto imo do not have poor stamina. an is oscar elite? he was damn good but elite. cotto is still going and u can place him in elite category if u ask me. and his stamina is good . wen does he run out of stamina. vs a guy with plaster in his wraps. that does not count he wasnt tired he was hurt so bad he couldnt continue.
