Now that may be asking a bit much Strike. Lockett doesn't look terribly bad on defense. His footwork is poor though I must admit. Plus he can punch and you have to take time with that or risk getting KTFO. Pavlik will likely come at Lockett differently than he did Miranda. Lockett is smaller so he can force Lockett to come to him. Because of that it may be some rounds. Either way I don't expect a stoppage inside of 2 rounds.
I would love it Lockett pulled off the upset as he is a good bloke and a HUGE underdog, however I will be shocked it this goes longer than 4 rounds. The only reason it may go longer is if Kelly takes his time, wanting to try out a few things whilst giving his fans their moneys worth. Lockett has no business being in with the middleweight king and how he 'earned' the shot is beyond me.
Mismatch. Easy figth and easy style for Kelly, i expect and early KO from him. he has had a few toughies in a row though so im going to allow this gimme, all champion have em.
Other than AA basically every middleweight that steps into the ring with Pavlik is doomed - i'm expecting Lockett to last 3 or at most 4 rnds
It is a mismatch, but let's not forget how we ended up with this crap. Duddy got his face mangled by Smichet, Winky's asking price was way to high, and Abraham needs US exposure in order to give Pav/AA the kind of promotional build up it deserves.
The Tsarenko loss was years ago, he avenged It too and Rhodes hits harder than Jermain Taylor. Miranda's a hyped up national level fighter, every world class fight he had he lost. The Prime Ryan Rhodes who ran Otis Grant close would KO Pavlik. Lockett could lose but he'll do better than what you guys think.
both punchers - someone - maybe both of them is going to get nailed early - I see them actually both going down - cos Lockett is just going to go for a it like a mad man swinging when he gets tagged with a few - he got nothing to lose - this could be like Naz-Kevin Kelly. I think that Lockett gives him a scare but finally Pavlik asserts his authority and blasts him out inside three rounds. This could be something like Hearns - Hagler. Even though Lockett might be in too deep a water I expect a gallant aggressive effort while it lasts
Check the bold part above. That is exactly what Lenoard Pierre did. That fight took place in front of a home town crowd, and Team Pavlik planned to let it go awhile and give the fans a great show. However, after Pierre got all wild and started trying to take Pavlik out with one shot, Leow told Pav to go knock him out.
Locketts only notable name on the resume is Kevin Kelly and not the Featherweight Kevin Kelly neither. Need I say more.
http://www.frankwarren.tv/drill/News/Articles/2008/06/02/text-enzo-s-fired-up.html Leow will regret calling Joe a slapper If they fight In the ring, Pavlik's come forward style Joe would thrive off and they shouldn't look past Lockett.
Lockett will be humiliated and KOed with ease. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTcfhOKpyz0 [yt]aTcfhOKpyz0[/yt]
Took him 7 rounds to dump Miranda whos not much better than Duddy. Pavlik;s one of the most limited skilled champs currently, he's another Gatti waiting to happen. Taylor should of got a draw or win In the rematch too. Lockett won't make Taylor;'s mistake either, If he has Kelly down, Kelly will get finished off.
Haha no ****. I'm going to cash in at the vBookie. This will make up for what I lost on the Zelenoff fight. ****ing mouthguard-spitting scum.
