You've either got to know very little about boxing, or are a massive nuthugger to have GGG ranked above either Ward or Kovalev on any sort of P4P list.

The difference in calibre of those fighters is like night and day.

Well according to the same people on here who think GGG should have been paid very little (and they have to get something right sooner or later) Canelo is a major superstar so numbers really shouldn't be a problem.

Speaking strictly from a monetary perspective Loeffler has done great by Golovkin. HBO has been paying him for many fights that they wouldnt approve for other fighters. And hes hit the jackpot with Canelo

But you have to remember part of the Canelo/GGG demand came from HBO pushing the agenda on it. HBO has been eyeing this fight and setting it up for a couple of years

As this poster is saying. Golovkin doesnt have a real legacy to leave behind. He will walk away with some nice coin but he will fall short as far as becoming a legend. Theres a bunch of C level guys on his resume and then you have his legacy fight being with a guy that has 0 wins against middlweights.

 

Did you know that GGG received a measly 30k on his first fight w/ HBO?
