If you can't make X weight when you were 25 then that is not your natural size

All this BS about guys being smaller than their natural size is annoying. Canelo for example is a natural Middleweight. He cannot make 154 or 147 without draining himself. And now at 26 he probably can't even make 154 without serious medical issues. He was draining so hard that his stamina was taking a hit. Notice how against Chavez his stamina issues seemed to just disappear?

Anyways the point is a 20 or 21 year old fighter, he's still growing into his body. He can make a weight that is lower than you would expect when he's fully grown into his frame. Which is basically at 25 years old.

It's like saying Tommy Hearns is a natural Weltwerweight or Manny Pacquiao is natural Flyweight. They're not. They made those weights when the body was still growing into the frame.

Same with Canelo. He's 26 years old now. He's not 22 anymore, the body is not growing anymore.

He's a natural Middleweight and to say otherwise is a little disingenuous.

Notice how people are saying GGG is slowing down?? Because he grew out of MW years ago.

He should be up mixing it at 168.

You don't really grow out of a weight past age 25 or 26 though. You eat out of it. GGG is 35, so yes biologically that is the point that human body beings to lose it's physical attributes.

Sure you do. Calzaghe grew out of SMW in his mid 30's.

He was rejuvenated and reconstituted at 175.

Canelo is naturally somewhere in between 154 and 160.

Golovkin has been able to stay at 160 comfortably without draining his whole career. Because he turned pro at 24 years old. His body was already done growing by the time he turned pro.

Looked pretty damn good to me against Kessler at 168 when he was 34 years old.

Did he though? Or was he just a 147/154 fighting bigger men? Wasn't his title fight against Williams at 157 or something like that? He could have made 154 with ease for his career I would think.

So, your point is that people get heavier when they grow? Great thread!!
Also, I guess no pro-boxer, exept heavy weights, fight at thier "natural weight".

Hopkins was still at 160 at the age of 40.
Yet many proclaim that he was always a true LHW.
