Was the Kovalev-Ward 2 fight rigged vs Sergey?

Actually, Kovalev was sitting on the ropes not defending himself. Weeks was right to stop the fight because Kovalev wasn't even trying to defend himself. It's amazing to see how these Kovalev fans try to rationalize him quitting in that fight.

 

Ward started each round loading up to swing big right hands. He was exclusively looking for the knockout and was willing to trade.

We've never ever seen Ward do this before.

Watch it again and you will see before Ward delivered the triple low blow, Kovalev was firing back with punches of his own.

He did not quit, Weeks prematurely ended the fight and failed to enforce the rules.

Exactly. And that's what many are tired of and is gonna change. EE fighters need to give Turds like Ward the same treatment whenever they get the balls to fight across the pond. We all know Ward only fights in his controlled environments in the US though.

 

I am of the belief the fight was not on the level but I lost a significant sum on the fight and am definitely biased.

Unsurprisingly, all the posters who had Ward winning the 1st fight also see nothing suspect about the 2nd fight other than maybe the ref being too quick to stop it. With 90% of posters on this forum you know which side they will be on depending on which fighter is being discussed before you read their post, all the while insisting they are completely unbiased and calling it down the middle. It would be refreshing to read a Ward fan condemning him but I won't hold my breath.
I am a big fan of GGG but if he beats Canelo in the manner Ward did Kovalev I would absolutely criticise him and lose some respect for him, believe it or not. Favouring certain fighters is natural but the integrity of any sporting competition should always be paramount and any victory tainted by injustice should not be celebrated.

 

Why in the hell would Ward need to go fight anywhere else when he just got 6 million to fight Kovalev? He's not getting that money outside of the US. Not to mention he calls the shots now. Spence had no problems fighting Brook in the UK and neither did Crawford for Burns. If the money is right he will travel.

 

So you think the fight being stopped on a low blow was fine?? And we don't know what would have happened if the ref did his job and gave Sergey the standard 5 minute rest like Bowe got. Ward might have won OR Sergey might have resumed his jab and won a close decision.

 

So you think Ward will go to the UK to fight Bellew?! Really?!
