Back in the day yes... But anything past 2009 no. Pacquiao is the same really... Both are sub 140 pounders. Prime at aged >25. No fighter physically can get better after aged 30. It's not possible unless you started off really unfit. so do the math. Floyd is 40. 2017-10 = 2007 was Floyd's last physically on top year. He stop using physicality after he moved up from 130 anyway...then honed his skills for the next decade. Brittle hands and evolved into the pure defensive master as his competition got stiffer. If you told Floyd back in early 2000's he'd still be on top and beating welters 10 years later he'd have laughed and thought you were crazy. ignoring all the nonsense I just wrote...really it all comes down to Floyd having hand issues. It's the only reason that will stop him KO'ing McGregor.
This. Floyd schools most guys he fights so badly that it's worse than getting whooped. Mayweather didn't really hurt Marquez, but he made Marquez look like an amateur. Marquez didn't even want a rematch, since he knew he would get embarrassed again. The Canelo fight was another example of a top fighter looking completely ineffective. Canelo figured Khan out eventually and knocked him out. Mayweather on the other hand kept switching things up and beating Canelo to the punch so Canelo could never get comfortable.
ROFLMAO Mayweather could knock a fly off a pile of horse feces He cold cocked a defenceless Victor Ortiz with his best combination, Ortiz got up laughing
Floyd never beat anyone up as bad as Pac beat up Margarito. Torrecampo just clocked his ass and crossed his eyes for a 30 count. Singsurat did beat Pac up good before he made him quit. The other losses were ko losses where he didn't take any punishment. Marquez did knock Pac down and daze him before he knocked him unconscious. It wasnt a beating but it sure as hell was humiliating seeing Pac fall on his ****en face lmmfao...!!!
I'd add Gerena and Carlos Rios as 130 lb title defence beatdowns, and Corrales with those knockdowns has to be considered a whooping. I don't remember seeing that kind of offense against Bruseles and Zab, though I haven't watched those fights since they happened. Floyd in his physical prime punched hard enough to knock down and stun guys even if he didn't have one punch knockout power. On top of his decent power the commitment to combos that we didn't see at 147 is what brought about the whoopings he did dish out.
People will hate but he has about the same ko record as fighters like Jmm and Pac who are considered heavy punchers
He put a beating on JMM... and to this day I think it's his best win.. **** the catchweight ****... JMM KTFO of Pac.. and arguably won the other fights by outboxing Pac... yet JMM couldn't do **** against Floyd. Size had nothing to do with it either.. Floyd took JMM to school.
Hell he was ambushed by a coward who should have been DQ'd. Fluffy Floyd couldn't KO him What a fairy
