Instead of fighting bigger guys? Roach said after the Mayweather fight they were going to go back down to 140 for the rest of his career. Horn was obviously a much bigger guy. Granted Manny won the fight easily but he could KO the smaller guys. In his prime he could KO the big guys but if he wants to continue to fight he needs to go back down to 140. I bet horn had 20 lbs on him tonight. Fluid had at least 20 pounds on him.
Pac should go back down to 140, but he clearly won the fight tonight, by far, it was not even close...........
You don't think he had 20 lbs on manny on fight night? There is a reason fluid doesn't step on the scales on fight night. Canelo is another one who puts on about 20 lbs after weigh in.
140 lbs is no easier. Terence Crawford is there. However Manny has already stated he wants a rematch. There is a rematch clause. Nov is the date mentioned for rematch by Horn's promoter.
Cant be easy to go back down weight divisions at the age of 38. Why doesnt he just retire? He is not half the fighter he used to be and at his age is only going to keep declining. A prime or even near prime doesnt even break sweat against people like Horn or Bradley or Vargas. He has made his money, cemented his name in Boxings history books and has been one of the best fighters to watch treating us to some great nights that we will never forget. Hang them up Manny and be a politicion or what ever it is you wana do. We are talking about whether last night was a robbery or not, we can all agree it was close but can you imagine Horn in with a Mayweather, Spence, Brook, Thurman. Manny isnt able to fight at the top level any more which was made very clear last night.
It's a step back. If he admits that he can't hack it at 147 any more and his skills are diminished, it's not much of a step to admit that he should just hang his gloves up and his fighting days are done. Plus, this is an elite athlete and he has his pride. Very rarely do you see guys concede to age but want to continue. Whenever you see a former star playing in the minor leagues or something, it's just sad that they can't let go.
The real question is: at this stage in Pacquiao's career, with so many other things going on in his life, is he really motivated enough to want to do it?
Agree with this. Pac is just a part time fighter now and the inactivity shows his sluggishness tonight. Although I still though he won SD
Forget that. He should confess the hypocrisy of being a Christian while committing acts of violence as his profession, and not just retire but renounce his boxing career and reject all the accolades and prestige that have come with it. Turn the other cheek, the kingdom of heaven is for the meek, etc, etc.
