Yeah, looking forward to this and struggling to decide on a winner. I think I'll go Catterall. Nurse has really improved over the last couple of years but I think Caterall's pressure will get to him late
Catterall for me. Nurse is a contradiction. Boxes at range, can look slick, quick & skilled but gets hit with silly clean punches, does well in a fight in the pocket with work rate but lacks power & defence to pull it off. Has skills but way too many vulnerabilities. Caterall can counterpunch & judges range well. Not a huge puncher but good timing. I think Catterall wins competitive UD. Good time for Jack. Tyrone has made work of Coyle, Andy Keates & Joe Hughes in recent times.
Good fight, Nurse has fought better opponents but I fancy Catterall to win this one. Think his work rate and timing and higher level of consistency through a fight will win Catterall it, Nurde blows hot and cold throughout fights and think that turns it in Catteralls favour.
Im going cat in this As much as i like nurse, much for the reasons as amazing one, also hes not consistent enough. In his last fight he looked terrible. A fully focused nurse would win it but i beleive hes losing desire
I'll always be a fan of Nurse, me and him joined this forum around about the same time I remember when he did his introductory post here(obligatory on the British forum at the time). He was 18 and was looking forward to his first pro fight. He stopped posting after the Baz Carey fight I believe (also used to post on this forum). Slick and smooth.
If Nurse boxes then he wins a wide points decision imo. He is a brilliant little boxer but i think he just loves a bit of a scrap. I also question his fitness as he seems to fatigue quickly which means he has to fight inside. If catteral sets a blistering pace i think he could knock nurse out mid to late
It's a shame more fighters don't post on here mate. I do like Nurse's work, he's a very entertaining, skilful fighter and I do expect him to win on points.
It's just the nature of the internet and the way things have become, there was no trolls or alts back then, people hadn't thought them up. My first account "yesihavearm" with no 2 at the end was here in 2006 before the server crashed which wiped everything, pre-facebook etc and everyone was a lot more open with their identities on here. Really good knowledgeable posters. Plenty of fighters and trainers used to post here and on the general forum and not just once in a while but day to day and also we had the Lounge forum here which was just a place for general non-boxing chat which was a massive timesink. Some fighters who used to post here: Darnell Wilson BJ Flores Tony Bellew Gary Lockett Geoff Thomas Enzo Maccarinelli There's tons more that I have forgotten about. and of course here was the birthplace of the now infamous Charlie Zelenhoff. The owners of this place decided one day that they wanted the forum to be strictly about boxing, so they removed the lounge and things like avatars. A few of the best regular posters here decided to leave and form their own site...which is now the biggest competitor to us and we lost a lot of the quality posters and gained a lot of trolls unfortunately. Things kinda went downhill from there. Some of the old threads were legendary, the "post your pic" thread was amazing. I still have photos of a lot of members here saved on one of my old hard discs along with lots of the old threads, Zakman, Rico Spadafora etc....fun times. Probably the best poster we ever had here Brooklyn1550 (RIP), was a sparring partner for Marvin Hagler and used to post photos of them together training. Some of that stuff was gold. Amazing memories, just not the same anymore really.
That was a quality post mate. Very reminiscent. You're right about the trolls and there's certainly a few caustic souls on here too but there are some really good posters. I do enjoy dipping into this little community (the British section) on a daily basis.
Nurse goes to sleep sometimes and he doesn't stay focused throughout the fight. If he sticks to his rangey awkward boxing then he's a tough night for anyone. Not seen much of catterall but I saw the knockout against gethin who is no mug. Neither hardest of hitters but I think nurse falling asleep at times could cost him a win
