Dont know that much about amatuer boxers. Want to get to know more about the amatuer scene. Who should i watch out for
Peter McGrail, Julio Cesar La Cruz, Joahnny Argilagos are 3 that come to my mind. i'm just getting into amateurs as well since Rio 2016 so this thread could help me out as well
Robeisy Ramirez, Julio Cesar La Cruz, Daniyar Yeleussinov (who Mayweather is a massive fan of), Hasanboy Dusmatov and Arlen Lopez are my top picks. Here are the medalists from the Games in 2016: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxing_at_the_2016_Summer_Olympics
dont know how i forgot Ramirez lol, i can't believe he'll still only be 27 after Tokyo, hope we see him turnover after that
I don't think he did. I remember there was a rumour about him turning pro with Mike Altamura as the manager (who Dychko is apparently turning pro with) but I'm not sure if it is true. He was/is certainly contemplating it. His brother is currently a pro in NY - http://boxrec.com/boxer/705326 In his insta, he seems very happy in Kazakhstan.
Robeisy tends not to care so much about other tournaments but maybe we can see him win 3x Olympic Gold putting himself in the same class as Lazlo Papp. Once in a lifetime achievement.
Julio cesar la cruz, Robeisy ramirez, argilagos, melekuziev Some good UK amateurs include Callum French, McCormack twins, Dalton Smith etc Manor Boxing Gym in sheffield also has some good amateurs who don't have the exposure that team GB have. Shakiel Thompson, Reneil Thompson, Darnell Sterling and Donte Dixon all names to look out for
