I think he was never really an educated swarmer.. more just pure athleticism. Margarito was the last great performance by pac (mosley was not to bad but there was a clear decline)
Remember that time Pac and Floyd were going to fight in 2009, but Pac didn't agree to extending the drug testing period and walked out on negotiations?
I've seen the Jesus Chavez fight, I don't rate Chavez and never have although Chavez did land some big shots on Floyd - he telegraphed too much and lacked intelligence - Maidana's boxing IQ is very underrated. Castillo beat Mayweather in the opinion of most - styles make fights. Cotto truly beat Mayweather up although Mayweather very clearly won - Cotto isn't as rough of a fighter to trouble Mayweather in any complete sense. The Canelo fight was after Cotto, where Floyd looked lightening fast and had the ability athletically to be at the most elite platform. So again I state, Maidana is a major stylistic threat to Mayweather and had good size. Mayweather wasn't prime so you're arguing with the wrong person, but he wasn't anywhere near as past it as Pac was and he demonstrated this in the Maidana fights, the Canelo fight, the Pac fight AND THE BERTO FIGHT - which is the point that goes over every *****'s heads, conveniently, in order to make an argument out of absolutely nothing.
What does it say about getting put to sleep by Marquez, losing a decision to Bradley....hmm what does it say about Medgoen Singsurat, and Rustico Torrecampo?
I disagree. The Cotto, Hatton, and Oscar fights were great displays of educated pressure. He was not just overwhelming but remarkably sound in those fights. Now I do agree Margarito was his last great performance. By the time of Mosley and Marquez III, he was doing more countering and less swarming. He was clearly slowing down.
All it says to me is Manny and his tards always have some excuse for losing.. My shoulder was sore, the judges cheated on so on..
